Title: Jet Boat covers in the $200 range?
Post by: 67Charger on October 05, 2021, 08:38:31 AM
Looking for a decent cover for my 18' '72 Kona.  I've wasted enough time and money on the dirt cheap eBay covers.  What's out there that fits nice for a low profile jet that will last more than 1 year?  Ski-tow off the 455 seem to be troublesome and wants to try to rub a hole through the cover if I don't keep foam on it.

This is just a cover while stored, not a towing cover, right? If so, is it stored outside in the sun?

Have you tried Overtons or West Marine? They have a lot of different covers, but I’m not sure how different the cheaper ones are from the eBay ones you’ve dealt with. A decent canvas cover will last a lot longer, but they are quite a bit more $$.

I don't generally tow with a cover on.  It is more for the fact that it is stored in the sun and weather.  I'm up in Utah now, and it will be getting significant snow now too.  I used to get the cheapest covers I could find, then popped for a $100 heavier duty one, but the sun has killed the straps already at only 15 months old.

What about putting up some sort of shelter?
