Title: just got back from blythe
Post by: AQUAHOLIC on April 29, 2007, 07:17:22 PM
it was a good weekend. i figured out the hull vibration issue. the motor was not set in the boat correctly. it was about half an inch too far forward. so the rear of the motor did not seat up correctly to the jet drive. we did a temp fix. but now i need one of those front motor mount plates. where is the best place to get one.??

thanks for all your help guys

i did not get any phone calls so i guess none of you guys were in the area. i am going back next weekend. i got friday off so i will be out there sunday night.

if any of you are going to be at the lower river give me a call.

Aquaholic, since it seems that you go to the area a lot, do you know where "Gilligan's Island" is in Blythe?
My wife and I took the 3 kids to the river last summer and stumbled across it while looking for a place to pitch our tent for the weekend. It's north of the 10 on the AZ side. Seems to be a locals hang-out which is who we hung with all weeknd.

No; not going this weekend. We don't go often because we don't have a boat (have everything else; just no boat). The Blythe area is where I like to go with the family (did the Parker thing a lot in the 80's when had no kids). Maybe one day I'll be able to get that jet boat I've been wanting for years; then we'll go regularly. I'm always looking to stumble into a deal which is what got me to his website; I always look at Craig's list and there was a posting there about SoCalJetBoats.com.

Have a good weekend! Keep the intake on the downside ;-)

If you want a project boat, I have one for ya.  Its an 80's JemCraft.  Currently has a Berkley jet on it, set up for a olds.  I even have a moto in my garage (in peices) that needs rebuilt.  A littl egelcoat, some mechanical know how and you're in!  I'll sale it for $750 including all of the spare motor from my boat!

Thanks Tom for the contact and offer. If I had enough posts, I'd leave you some good karma.
As we talked about, with the wife and 3 kids, I need more room (I'll probably get flack for this, but we need an open bow).
Again, THANKS!

haha, the tanks are on the sides!  There's nothing under the bow!  Maybe I'll keep it and "create" something with it!  lol

That boat is one of the biggest pieces of sh!t I have ever seen in my life , take that thing out of it's misery and make a trip to the dump! Rod and I drove up from San Diego to check it out and what a waste of time! He told me it was a complete boat and just needed the engine put back together over the phone and when I got there that's not what I found! Somebody fiber glassed all over the place and had no clue what they were doing! They did not even use matting , just resin. No floor, no gauges , no steering , one motor mount , the nozzle was off the pump ( which was beat in the first place) not a trace of interior and when I leaned on it my arm turned blue from the oxidation. The trailer had been hit by a car or truck and was badly bent , and on top of it all he failed to mention that there was no plate on the trailer so we could not have towed it if we wanted to ( which there was no chance in hell we would ). I can't believe that some one would let some one else drive all that way under false hopes! So to tom949 ,This pic's for you!!!! ;D[attachimg=#]

::)  WTF?   :o  "... A littl egelcoat, some mechanical know how and you're in!..."

What about the gauges? steering? cables? the bent trailer? plates? papers? rear engine mount? wiring? Some mechanical know how and you're in? WTF? Are you freakin' kidding me?!? I seriously thought about offering $150 but Marc wouldn't pitch in $75 for half of it!

All I can say is I'm glad I had some beer before I arrived, I'm a happy drunk really, good motha fockin thing too!   >:(
