Anybody have any suggestions on how to keep a dog off of a boat? My 3 year old pit bull keeps jumping on top of my boat and tearing though my not cover. I’ve replaced interior twice, and gone through about 3 covers in the past 2 years. I am seriously at my wits end. I love that dog, but he’s chewed through everything including the tires. He knows what he is doing is wrong because he runs and hides when I get home and see the destruction. Any suggestions outside of finding a new home for him? I would put the boat in storage but it’s a project that I have been working on for two years and I need access to it. Every time I replace something he just tears it up again. I am making no headway here. Ideas?

Watch The Dog Whisperer.

He’d probably say your dog is bored or having separation anxiety. Or there maybe cats or other critters getting in the boat. Is there any way to barricade/fence in the boat?

Are you speaking from experience? Does this really work? How bad will it hurt him if at all?

I have no way of barricading the boat. As it sits in my already gated driveway. I guess I could build another fence, but there’s no where to mount posts as the ground around my boat is concrete.

Sorry, mouse traps. I used to put them around the planter box to keep my lab who liked to dig.

Might try some electric fence webbing and a fence post charger. Only thing is you'll have to find a waited base to put the fiberglass post rods into since it's sitting on concrete. Should only take a time or two and he'll learn.

I do that when aquaholic touches my boat. Unfortunately he enjoyed and then jumped into my boat. Lol
