Bob, give me a call in the morning. I might meet you down there if it's not warm enough to hit Castaic. Went to the lake today. It was great.

Well the LA boat show sucked ass. Saw a total of 4 jet boats there. The big thing is how big of a tower and how many speakers will it fit. The stuff for my type of boat just isnt there and if it was there it cost way too much $$$. Was able to escape with a new $40.00 ski rope and lunch at the Pantry. Alot of nice boats but not enough money. :banghead:

Yea it pretty much sucked. They have us working both the Centurion and Reinell Booths. I never seen it so dead like this year. Somehow though the jet guys always find me, so it was cool talking shop with some other jet boaters.. If anyone gets bored come on by and say hi. Sure helps pass time thats for sure!

Let me know where you'll be on Saturday the 16th and I'll stop by O0
-
Went last night and was also disappointed. But I'm most confident that if someone wanted to come out with a nice new old school river boat there would be a market, or at least no competition.
-
ill save my money then, and wait for the long beach show!

I couldn't agree more. Does anyone know what's involved in the process? The legalities etc? I'm sure there are molds out there waiting to be resurrected, and plenty of hulls that could stand to be splashed. Maybe this is something we could get some folks here involved in? A group effort always makes shit easier to accomplish................
-
Careful splashing a hull in California. There are laws on the books thanks to the hot tub industry that makes it a felony to splash fiberglass products without the explicit permission of the owner of the molds. This is actually a good thing. and finding any old molds in good enough shape to use is not as easy as you might expect. Boats when put out of production the molds usually went out in the yard and the weather has made them useless. They are out there though good luck with anyone looking.

Hell yeah. Those boats are a perfect mix of old and new. But damn they are just as spendy as everything else. Does it really cost that much to build a simple boat these days? I heard he sold the couple that he had there tho.

I dont really know but I will say that they are in it to make money so either do it yourself or you can have him do it and have everything come out right is the way I see it . I remember when the first one came out and all people could say " Why didnt you make an outdrive ? Why didnt you make a V-Drive ? Blah blah blah ." Instead of " Good for you , Will you make other drive options ? " I swear some fukin people drive me nuts . It takes huge stones to take on an sector of boating where the people who are lookin into something like that product and have to pay a realativly huge price . There is something to be said about being able to dream up your vintage day cruiser with every single modern upgrade right down to the fiberglass . Big props to DCM .
