Title: Labor Day Guys
Post by: IRRebel on August 31, 2009, 11:21:13 PM
OK, So Skip and I thought maybe a gathering, he got no support. Don't have to even involve boats, but SOMETHING. What are we all doing that weekend?

Mine is open, off and really want to know whats up. I've seen a couple at Blythe, I know some of the Vegas crew were talking Mead, Where we at? Trying to make MY plans as to where I'll be.

As another monkey wrench, there's gonna ba a LOT of jet boats at Sag here too! Mostly from the PB site, but a few cross dressers.

So where we at guys? (Lets try and keep it simple in this, ok? I am probably the biggest thread polluter, but I am ASKING, keep it on track).

Ray

We tried getting Echo Bay together since March. Everybody always wants to talk about that GD river, anchores and waiting for the water to come up. There may be some friends of mine doing Temple Bar, if so I will prolly roll out there. Why does everyone always want to go to the most crowded low water mud hole on the creek? I think it's a california thing. Like I said before," if ya wanna drink go to the river, if ya wanna boat go to the lake". I personaly have no use for any part of that river, accept maybe Topock.

for the millionth time....because the lake is a clusterphock with ocean swells. leave the parker strip out of this, thats an exception.

didnt you guys get stranded out there recently? josh told me about having to leave his boat there overnight because it was THAT BAD?! NO THANKS. ill take the cruiser out there IF its VERY calm....3day weekend? breezy? NO FLIPPIN WAY!...ill never take the liberty out there unless its for quick testing right outside the marina on a weekday only.

honestly, if lake mead was not outside my back door, you'd never find me there, ever.

I've been boating for years in Blythe and the water level is never an issue. Water level does vary but if you pay attention it isn't an issue. Any day of the week I can go any where from The Palo Verde Dam to Walter's Camp with out a problem, I have never been below Walter's Camp.

I'm trying to throw some new head gaskets on and make it out to Big River.

Pulled the heads tonight and found shavings... spun a bearing. No river for me.

Testing?

No playing. We put a second seat in it and a mild 454 so we could play with it on the river! The Rogers is our only race boat now.
