Definately not the first, or the second, or the third, or the - you get the point.

Rod:

Actually, that is not the loader or "scoop" that Steve and I built.  The
one you have was a more mass produced piece that came along later.
Yours may be a "Superjet" scoop or one built by Roy Miersch.  We had
actually built over a dozen different ones by the time the one you have
came along.   We never built them to sell, only to race.

The early ones we built had curved blades or scoops that cut into the
water.  It only had 2 fingers or runners to which the scoops were
welded.  The scoops ran half way up to the center of the mounting plate
and extended about 2" below it.  The curve followed the curve of the
upper area of the pump housing ran about 10" total. They also fit tight
against the side of the intake and we had to grind on them to get them
to fit.   The early scoops were open in the center, but we began to use
full width scoops for circle racing shortly thereafter.  So our scoop
was actually a little more "sophisticated" then one pictured.

The first scoop Steve built eventually ripped apart at the weld at the
mounting plate on one side and was retired after it looked like a
pretzel after a race.  So no one has that one.  It hung on the wall at
the shop for some time and was thrown out when we closed up.

Liberty and Norm ended up with all of my old scoops.

Thanks for the note!

Best.
