Title: Latest Drama
Post by: stc315 on June 02, 2010, 01:44:08 PM
With the way the economy is going and with no end in sight for pay cuts at work. Wife and I have decided not to renew our lease in August. That means looking for another house and moving :banghead: It really sucks because we love the house we're in. But it's just costing us too much. We have a 2700 sf 5br with 3 of my wife's kids living with us. Only one is going to have a chance to stay with us. We're going to a 3br. The other two need to get their sh*t together. We're both tired of the "we owe them" attitude and not cleaning up after themselves. It's going to be hard to find another house in our price range with a 3 car garage & parking for trailer & cars too. Anyway, enough of my whining.

same boat (pun intended) here.
Except the kids part.
Now I actually have a little side work but no one to watch my kids, so ....
I should have seen it coming, because around here, when it rains, it pours.

I hear ya Omar! If I could get some overtime, I'd be in good shape. But since I took a promotion (Dec 08) its been real sporadic (one to two a month). If I were to demote, I could get 10 a month (close to $2500). But I really don't want to go backwards in my career (not to mention almost impossible to go back up). So I'm pretty much stuck where I am.

If the kids are 18 then its time ......

My mom packed my bags the day i turned 18 and when i got home from work they were waiting for me in front of my bedroom door.

I was out plain and simple...  I was a really good kid to >:D

But anyways i have respected that decision since then and i think the same way now.......

Sometimes tough love is the best solution to a problem ;)

now go pack there bags ;D

Good luck with the move

I didn't move out, but I had to start paying rent (not cheap either) on top of buying my and my dad beer (and it was a lot at the time).

We did give them the ultimatum. We told them they have to be out by August 1st. My step daughter is going thru a tough time. Her ex screwed her over big time. The funny thing is he tried too hard and got thrown in jail and lost his job with Sheriffs Dept. for Fraudulent Schemes. She wrote two checks out of his account to pay his credit card and his car payment. He filed a report saying she stole the money from his account. The damning evidence was an audio recording of him okaying her to access his account. What made it worse was that he filed a claim with the bank to get the money back. Bad part of it was he lost his job and isn't paying child support. He's living with his rich mommy so he doesn't have to pay c.s. F*ckin POS. Anyway, I kinda gave her a break and let her move in with us. But enough is enough. She needs to get her sh** together. My youngest step-son will be staying with us. He pays rent and cleans up after himself. The only time he is noisy is when his girlfriend comes over! lol Oldest step-son & his girlfriend are slobs and can't find work. He's working part time, but he has f'd off so many good jobs its not even funny. Anyway, he's gone August 1st. We'll see what happens with us. Still trying to re-fi or trade in my truck to lower payments.
okay Sam...step away from the soapbox  :'(

Out here with the way the econemy is, I havent worked in two years. As it turnes out as far as housing goes you can rent for 12 or buy for 6 a month. So, i'm making a cash offer on a 3br house w/ a four car garage 36x24 for $45,000. No shit, yo can a little box house out here for $30,000 with a lot big enough for a shop.

my high school graduation present was levi's and work boots! i pay rent and have so since the day i was 21! here's the good part my dad asked me what my mom would charge me for rent and i made up a ballpark figure, and he said i would half to charge me a 100 bucks more because he lived in a nicer neighborhood! so i then figured out time to move on!
