Heading out to Laughlin next weekend first time there since I was 13, any good hot spots to chill at? Last year I was at Havasu during memorial it was awesome, looking for spots in Laughlin or how these two places compare thanks

I was in Laughlin a couple weeks ago during memorial weekend and it was dead. I seen maybe 10 boats for the week I was there. I seen more boats on the river in needles. Laughlin is dead now a days. I would stay down towards AVI resort or pirates cove resort. Sorry to give you the bad news.

Staying in Laughlin isn't bad. There are many different options from there. I was in Laughlin a few weeks ago. We spent 1 day on the lake and 2 days on the river. Chose the river! Pirate cove is about an hr drive from Laughlin and is a great place to launch. If I remember correctly it's $15 for the day. You can also launch at Jack Smith in Needles which is a very nice facility. As far as hot spots you have Topock 66, Pirate cove, Lazy Harry's (which is near Big Bend and also another great spot to luanch the boat and close to Laughlin) If you stay at the AVI you are basically in the middle of everything and would be my choice to stay at. Nice casino great beach and that stretch of the river is one of my favorites. Have fun!

From what I saw it was mainly PWC right out in front of the strip. I haven't boated that area in years. I usually head down river. This was the first time I've stayed in Laughlin in a long time.

Like I said before. Laughlin isn't the same anymore. I fly out there a few times a year thru Harrah s casino and tow the boat a few times a year and the last few years it's been dead. Havasu is still crazy and the sand bar but that's all down river.
