I believe it's just saturday. Depending how much time I can get off I'll bring my boat but if I go out Friday I'm not bringing it.

Think I may look into it. Have wanted to do the float but haven't had the chance yet.

I may go if they fixed the bus situation. Last year we waited 3 hours for the hotel return busses. Had the same thing happen in 2011 as well.

The BHC/Laughlin float attracts 25-30,000 people, and their trash.
They stole it from Lazy Harry's, they stole their weekend, too (19th annual this year)
and they close the river. (WTF???)
and they (bhc) consistently loose money...8 years running

I float in MY BOAT
I will not be part of it.
I Support Lazy Harry's float, No one under 21 is allowed.

Same weekend as the scjb trip....
As much fun as these floats look, I just can't bring myself to drive to the river and NOT bring my boat...

Never been to the lazy harrys, I'll have to check that out. I have also never been to this laughlin float so I figured I'd give it a try. Sounds like there might be some problems though. We'll see.

25,000 people drinking heavily and zero will leave the river to pee.  I like to drink on beaches, not in toilets.  Just sayin'  .  .  .

I can honestly say that was one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. The actual part of floating was decent until you get stuck with some dip shits floating next to u. I've been coming to laughlin since I was 10 yrs old. This was my first time for the float and I will never come back for it. I love laughlin. But the disrespect and just plain trash ppl that came is really disappointing. There was trash all over the parking lots from boxes of tubes, endless trash and beer cans. And where everyone got out there was easily 20k + ppl around all hammered fighting, ambulances rescuing ppl who can't handle themselves. And once again the trash at the Finish was out of control. I wish I had my phone on me to take a pic of it. I'm honestly disappointed extremely by this event. If you haven't attended it I don't recommend it at all!

Nah, I figure if I just don't do oganized floats with thousands of knuckleheads.  Any other time I'm ok with splashing around with strangers, playing the fool.  I did turn down a friend"s offer to float with his crew.  He built some kind of platform complete with sound and a stripper pole.  He was coming from Vegas with some "dancers".    But I guarantee you he left no trash behind.

**** the river regatta. This is ridiculous. These pictures don't even show the half of it.

I tried to warn them...
Makes me sad to see all this trash, from visitors, and thrashing the place.
I always bring in more trash while out on the boat- but I'm gonna need a bigger boat now.
Hopefully nobody drowned, it's happened before...

F**K the river regatta
I'll be out on monday...uhhh, the aftermath

His pics don't even show the worst of it. As u were floating you look down and all u saw was beer cans at the bottom of the river. And as u float up on beaches the whole entire beach was completely litered. I honestly couldn't believe it. It truly was sad. And the crowd was 85% scumbags. The other 15% were good ppl trying to help each other and help clean up. I saw the guy with the made float with the stripper pole he was cool as hell, and someone on his float was scooping cans out of the water. Thought that was rad. Now I see why all the locals hate this event. I do too now.

We save our cans and bottles make about 70-100 bucks when we turn it in. Might have to just do a clean up next time make a few bucks for boat money. Plus it's the right thing to do

Basically just complete disregard for environmental health of the river systems. IMHO (and I really don't care if this pisses anyone on here off or not), the organizers need to be held criminally responsible and required for a complete cleanup of the river and shore line.

I have been an environmental protection supporter for marine estuaries and eco-systems since I was a kid. These rivers are delicate environmental machines that if not protected by everybody who uses them will be taken away by force. Already been done all other the United States.

I have gone so far as to pick up some inconsiderate boaters trash and throw it in their boat. They threatened to beat the shit out of me, then all of a sudden twenty or thirty people saw what was going on and came to my aid. I didn't know how many of them it was going to take to kick my ass, but I knew how many they were going to use... (Ron White)...

Way back when, the jet boat marathon committee would hold a clean up competition after the races on the river, the team that brought in the most trash off the shore won a $100 gift card from a sponsor. The last year I was involved, the winner only collected 18 pounds of garbage. The river was that clean after a three day event. Class act IMHO. Keep in mind, we used 38 MILES of river.... :sly:

Just proof positive that people suck. Fukkin pigs that don't respect anything.

The total disregard and lack of respect for our resources seems to go along with the current entitlement mind set of so many people these days.

You may think you're entitled to a job that pays you 60k+ a year to start...
You may think you're entitled to take 2 parking spots with your pos Honda...
You may think you're entitled to follow that last car through the red light...
You may think you're entitled to 24" wheels on your Escalade and a Coach purse while your kid goes to school with nothing...
You may think you're entitled to walk away from that big house even though you knew you couldn't afford it (hardship understood).

F%$K YOU, you're entitled to wake up tomorrow morning (if your lucky)... everything else you can work for!

This is just sad!! People frustrate the shit out of me. It's like the trash is right there, set it in it. Or put the can/bottle back into the ice chest and take it home with you!

The worse part about all this is, the people that do this live it total filth because there house looks the same way with highly over grown plants! With a total disregard for anything or anyone but themselves! Without a care in the world to do anything about it! An entitlement someone else will do it, so I don't have too!

Thought about going for the first time, but said forget it. Very glad we didn't go. We did launch outta Needles and stayed down river for the most part. Went about a half mile ip river from the Needles bridge. The shit we saw ..  All I can say is ..... disgusting and disgraceful ..

We've always made it a habit to hang trash bags on the ez-ups and keep one in the boat too. My kids know their trash goes in the bags only, NOT in the water. As for me, cigarette butts go in a can or water bottle. It's truly sad how most of society doesn't give a shit anymore.

Glen, I couldn't agree more. The city official(s) who approved it, and tbe eve t coordinator should be held fully responsible!

Same here. My buddies float had a slow leak in it so nobody was using it so we turned it into a giant trash can. And at the end of the day when we got out we put it all in bags. It was that simple. GT you are 100% correct, they all should be punished, I feel like if this event were in california it would have been shut down already. If environmentalists or fish and game find out I hope they shut it down. Sad thing is, it brings laughlin way too much money, and money talks, so I have a feeling this won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Bull****

The answer is quite simple.... They need $100 K before they can hold the event, if the area is not BETTER when they leave, the $100K goes toward clean up and rehabilitation... Bet that only happens once....

I will say this,  they did seem to have a cleaning crew cleaning the Davis camp, and other camps and launches/parking. To which extent I don't know. As for the beaches and parts of the river not as accessible,  who knows what's happened. I do know there was a ton of cans on the river bottom. That are probably gonna stay there

I attended this float ONCE in 2010. NEVER again. I refuse to support these. Its a shit show every year.

99% people there arent 'river people' that know basic etiquette of how to behave. The muscle head jocks feel out of place and threatened so they feel the need to fight everyone. The amount of trash is unbelievable. What nixonnow posted was just the stuff on the beach. What about all the crap that still in the river?!

After I swore I would never attend, the following year or two I was down in Willow Valley on the beach down there.....around 5-6 pm came a HUGE surge of trash floating down the river...beer cans, water bottles, tomatoes, bread...and even trash bags with trash in it ...the irony lol.....it was just disgusting to be in the river.

Someone over on RDP did a math equation that determined that the amount of people x how often the average person pees x how many hours the float is = 4-5 tanker trucks dumping pee into the river.

If a tanker truck drove up and dumped raw sewage into the river, dont you think SOMEONE would be upset?

This even should be banned from the river. Its only once a year and it brings a slew of destruction with it. The mayor just milks the shit out of it. I heard a radio interview on someones radio down in Aha Quin.....the mayor was participating in the float on the Pirates Cove pontoon. I'm sure it brings tons of revenue to the city, but it leaves a big black eye in the mean time.

I was in Havasu with my wife a few months ago to meet friend from socal and we were grossed out by the fact that they thought it was ok to pee in the lake or river even when there was a restroom close by. I'm not saying I've never pee'd in the water, but there has to be no other choice for me to do it!
