Title: Left drive and gas pedal?
Post by: Jgorm on June 01, 2018, 10:08:14 AM
Why do most jet boats have left drive and gas pedals? I'm really use to right drive and hand throttle after 28 years of driving boats with right drive.

I’m sure someone has the “official” answer as to why... but I always figured it was just to make them more like what people are used to driving... since all American auto manufacturers are lh drive and use a pedal.

I always figured it's because on the left the foot throttle is easy to mount to the stringer, where would you mount it on the right? You would have to build something and it would pretty close to the hull.
