Title: Looking for a breather tank
Post by: roost on November 24, 2015, 09:36:17 AM
As long as I'm re-plumbing everything, I figured I'd change the breather arrangement as well. I want to mount a breather tank at the rear of the tunnel ram, but it has to be above the distributor making it a horizontal tank. Anyone have a line on a reasonably priced horizontal breather tank? I saw the Stef's piece, but $215 seems a tad steep.

The puke tanks are expensive. I know the Imco one I had was almost 300 new 👍🏻

I have found a couple and they aren't $300. I found one at $100, but I don't know what if any internal baffling there is or the bung sizes. $300 is really obscene for what's involved in making these.

With 2 boats, it's plural (thousand$). The Imco at least looks like there was some craftsmanship for the money. The one from Stef's looks like a high school welding project.

What do you use these breather tanks for?

When you run a tunnel ram or a blower or even a regular carb the tank acts the same way as running the breather lines off the valve covers to the carb. Looks better than 12 inch lines running up a tunnel ram set up. They are also know as puke tanks.

Aww ok thank you!  Damn I'm adding a tunnel ram to my boat so I guess I need one to. Anyone have one for me to?

Ive seen a handful of people run lines from the valve covers to the headers too.
