Post by: Gwexler on January 27, 2008, 05:53:01 PM
I have a Scarab jet boat. I am looking at doing some work to my jet boat. Does any one know of someone that works on jet boats in MO.

So dose any one know whos jet volvo penta used

As far as I know they used a proprietary Volvo-Penta design. Aggressor Jets was offered the deal by Wellcraft until Volvo-Penta, who had a 30% stake in Wellcraft at the time, shat all over the proposed partnership. They were not going to let another company take profit from them unnecessarily. I'm pretty sure they ended up adapting someone else's design for their own purposes.

The Early Volvo jets were built by NAMJ (jacuzzi) and were YJ's for all intents and purposes The later ones like Gwexler were built by Dave @ Legend Jet drives ,Dave is /was a former Berleley Worker (engineer) Very nice piece in terms of construction Orings vs gaskets etc The jet is very similar to a Berk "E" "insert style" Jet , Weve sold parts to.. and serviced them , most Berk parts and "add ons" will interchange (or can be easily made to work!  Tom

Let's see some pics of Scarab's shot at protecting sea life. Thank's for the clarification Tom, my knowledge was very limited. So they did adapt someone elses design? Did they end up doing it all in house?

sweet. I only know the Aggressor side of every story... Never really got any input from any other side, cept of course the boys Dave would run with, naturally they all ran Aggressor... It's always cool visiting the other side of the fence.
