The cure for Winter Time Blues
  • Grab a beer
  • Go here: http://vimeo.com/channels/socaljetboats (http://vimeo.com/channels/socaljetboats)
  • Open the beer
  • Drink the beer and watch the videos

when you are drinking that beer, or 6, keep watching the videos. Crank up the heater to as hot as it will go, change into board shorts, or cut of jeans whichever you feel more comfortable in, and have a great time  O0

Here's a shot from a few hours after the first one....... Thats my ugly mug...

The weather in this part of Mississippi is crazy..... It was 76 this past Saturday!!...

And Brad, I believe I WILL crank the heat.... Break out the beach music... Put on my shorts and shades and hoist a few!   Good idea!!!

SoCal born and raised and I don't know how you guys do the snow.
This last week we (So Cal) had a cold front come through, 30's to 50's.
I know that's might be warm for some of you, but I was freezing. I actually had to put on pants instead of shorts. ;D
Back to hibernating

thanks, my wife gave me a "new" truck for my 50th B day. I just didn't specify the year!...lol.  really I love old rusty trucks and she surprised me, then I spent the rest of the summer ( and 4.5 tons of gravel) making my lawn ornament look good.  "48" International KB2 still has the flathead in it.  :)

From your August pic, I can see why you live there.

While the southern climate is nice, there is alot of baggage with it, traffic, smog, people.

I bitch about the weather , but  the 'baggage' you mentioned Dave are some of the reasons I moved here.... I was burnt on the traffic and the 'multitudes' .   I miss my friends, the beach and the river....., but the trade offs for me made it worthwhile.

The only thing getting wet on my boat here lately is when I spilled some iced tea when I was out working on it...

I can imagine it being worthwhile. My wife says we were meant to live in a different state, but won't leave family and friends.
Luckily, my commute is and has been about 6 miles. Helps keep me sane.

On another note, I don't know people do humidity. Give me 3 feet of snow before 90% at 90*.  :o

Yup yesterday was a good day at perris even though I almost sunk my boat. 78 degrees, no wind and the lake was glass. Just myself and a few fishing boats

The humidity is easy to deal with..... I go to the Lake .... Put da floaty in da water....

On the way home .. I enjoy the creation of Willis Haviland Carrier...perhaps not the true originator of the idea of air conditioning.... but he invented the first electro mechanical air conditioning system....... He is da MAN!.

After I had my "indoor lake party".... I was looking at some photos from this past summer....

and I realized the real reason I bought the boat wasn't the one I thought it was...

this is my 11 year old........

you got it now....when my son climbs aboard after "biffin" off the tube, or puts the hammer down while he is "captain" of the ship is when I know that buying our jet boat was the right decision!   cheers    8)

Yeah, it's all about the family!! I remember growing up and every other memory is on the boat or or camping. I got mine because I want my daughter to have those same kind of memories.

Here's the rest of my kids ( those left at home anyway ... I have 5)

I too remember all those times on the boat on the Delta.... or  the Salton Sea.... The river......  Camping out.... Down in Mexico.....Riding the motorcycles and dune buggies at Glamis too.. And I want my kids to have those same memories.... And more.
Everything I do, all the work and frustration at times is well worth it.

Thanks guys....for reminding me.
