Title: Lower river and prop boats

I know there are a lot of prop boats that run on the river, but is there any one on here that can give some insight to running the props on the lower river areas?
I have a 20 Spectra with an IO.
I am intrested in the areas of laughlin, Needles, Parker, Big River and Aha Quin to Blythe.

South of big river I'd bring an extra prop for any surprise sandbars. If I had a prop boat I'd rock parker! Haven't been north of that.

My dad runs his ultra IO down by us. He has only taken out 3 props in 10 years lol just aim for the dark spots hal.  :thumbup: :thumbup:

I run my outboard without a problem, but I usually only have about half the prop in the water so I don't need much depth.  If you know where the channel is, and follow it, you'll be fine between rio del sol and the headgate dam.  Below that, I don't know the river very well....at low water it's a bit sketchy...high water, it's fine.

Lower river (Blythe area)
You can run there no problem, there are sandbars to watch out for of course, on good sunny days you can clearly see the color change and ripple lines in the bars, so just stay in the dark water lines and you should be ok
On cloudy or overcast days, it a biach to make out where anything is
So i suggest, bring a extra prop just to be safe. Ohh yea and keep it trimmed up

I took the Bahner down to Blythe last year for the Fourth of July. I did fine there were a few areas that were sketchy.

I brought a cheap aluminum prop with me the first morning to get familiar with the water and the bars. Once i was familiar the SS one went on and no issues at all. Wear polarized sunglasses, trim it up and keep on plane you'll be fine
