Are all of the waterways where yall boat as shallow as all of the pictures indicate? Is there no place to tie up where the water is deep or is this just a preference out west? Just curious because our tie up spots here are usually 50+ feet deep.

Just curious. I am afraid to start my jet in shallow water like that. Afraid of what it might suck up. I guess our lakes here just go from shore to deep in nothing flat.

We dont run the rivers much here. At least around Austin. We run the lakes and I run mainly Lake Travis. The lake is 66 miles long and averages about a mile wide so that is ALOT of area to run. There are MANY coves that protect us from winds etc where we usually tie off and raft. Since they are mostly in between the hills the sides are steep and deep. I carry a 120ft anchor rope and usually let it all out when anchoring off.

The only River we have in Austin would be The colorado and there is a damn every time you turn around. We damned up our only river to make up the lakes.
