Before we went to court I :

  I ran off customers from the service writer's area
  I ran off customers from the sales lot
  I sat out on the curb with a big sign that said they sell lemons
  I sat across the street after being told to leave the property by the cops
  I ripped the phone cord out of the wall, because I knew he wasn't talking to anyone, he just didn't want to talk to me
  I called the owner at home, first during dinner time.  Later I started calling at about 11pm

4K is a months pay.   I'd say you have a lot of work to do, before you have gotten 4K worth out of value from them for not treating you right.    I'm not saying they should pay for it all, but they oughta at least work with you a bit.

My buddy had purchased an altinater from a parts house and it took a dump a week later and they wouldn t take it back two days later they got it back tossed it through there front window

what can i do really it is in such a gray area i can piss and wine goto court lawyer fees, and pissing an whining isnt gonna just make it happen i need my truck im paying for a rental car...take into account all the expenses it takes to really just fork over the dough and get the shit done...it is just a misfortune i didnt need right at this time, but they say no then thats the answer right? idk what else i can do...but i know it has to be done
