I am thinking of stuffing a full size pump in my mini boat.
the motor i have to bolt it to is a 1300cc 150hp jet ski motor. would this combo work or are the rpm ranges and power curves way off.

FULL size pump? just find some jetski with a blown motor and graft the bottom into your boat like this guy did:

such a sweet build thread.

Curious to know too
I have a ~13.5' boat, mid 60's thinking a 4.3 & berk

it sounds easy but it is a lot of work to get the ski bottom to fit the boat bottom. If you notice on that thread there is a guy named bartel that is working through the build with the guy.
That is me. Me and mini wake are building custom mini boats and going back and forth on ideas and what works and what does not work. Using a ski pump requires you to graft the ski back quarter bottom of the hull to your mini boat hull. Works great it jsut a lot of work. Using a full size berk would only require me to cut a bigger hole.
So now that you see the ease in using the big berk maybe an answer to the original question. lol..
What is the smallest motor you guys have seen on 18footers. i know small blocks have been used but the torque and rpm power curves would be completly different using a jet ski motor. I also have a 600 gsxr motor that runs and i have no use for. but that is only about 100hp. the 1300 puts out 50 more hp.
anyway feel free to throw out any crazy ideas you guys might have..
Where is ray when you need him. he always has a good idea or two

ROTARY TURBO!!!!! Racing beat makes a manifold to put a 600cfm holley on it so you can ditch all the computer crap.
-
I'll second the rotary, I had mine turning 11,000 rpm. You would have to change impellers but definitely a huge up on being different!
-
Why reinvent the wheel?
Sport Jet.... Nuff said.
Otherwise, I would be looking into a Scott model 751.....Just save your quarters for a while...Up to 175 HP
They are in New Zealand.... This is the smaller version of the pump used in Sprint Boats..

do you have a link to either of those pumps? i would like to check them out
