Title: Mounting Foot Throttle.....
Post by: skee on May 01, 2010, 09:24:19 PM
I'm going to mount a foot throttle in my Spectra tomorrow...I have a question....Should I use any type of sealer on the screws that hold it into the floor?? Or just run 'em in dry?? I know the S/S screw dealio, just dont want the floor to get ruined in the future.... Thanx in advance! ;D

I always do floor mounted parts the same way....Strap toggles and marine caulk...These are the bomb and the part can be removed and reinstalled without damaging the floor...Drill the appropriate sized hole and put the toggle in, before tightening the zip tie straps, fill the hole with caulking, the zip it tight and quickly install the part with some WD40 on the threads....Viola, water proof, yet stupid strong install...

This is from someone that rigged boats for a living for 11 years...Me!
