Thought I'd give some insight into what it is like to move an operation like ours (and still run a business and have a "life" Heres some pics of 15 years of accumulation of "stuff" ,plus the JBP beer trucksemi-trailer now know as "Beer Run" ;) Very excited to go to new "digs" after 15 years of being "cramped"

The new shop inside (before "cleanup") they "booted" this guy to make room for us , huge office , "clean room for engines and pumps , unlimited parking , and an Ass load of more floor/ space for the shop

Hey Tommy.....Good luck with the move..Dont you'se guyz work too hard! :) Hey....got a question...the 4th pic down...the Bimini (white/orange) for sale? what does it fit? And about the foot throttle dealio..I gotta replace the wood in my seats(found out today :mad:)so the foot throttle will wait. Wow, When I moved my shop (closed it would be more accurate) I went from a 3800 square foot building with a 1500 square foot back fenced lot to a single car garage and a 10X10 storage shed, not to mention the seven (7) boats and trailers.
Good luck with that Tom, I remember saying, "why the hell did I save that"? about 100,000 times. :banghead:

Being a "saver" I actually found alot (like Glen said) that I looked at and went WTF?? (dumpster time) why did I keep that?? conversley I discovered a lot of cool sh*t I forgot I had RE the move It will be an ass kicker this time of year but with the semi trailer (which the new landlord has approved to stay on premisis) and the Pallets and tubs , we think the "pain" will be lessened , biggest thing top transition is the "infrastucture" eg surveillance, air lines, phones ,dsl, addy changes The rest is all "grunt" ;)
In the new complex theres a Tow service, a high line body shop , a fiberglass repair and a lot of other "coplimenting" businesses

Skip or who ever has "expertize" to Jack my own thread for a minute , just had my septic pumped , when I dug it up it looked like the "lids" were maybe sealed with tar (or maybe "poop" ;) my questions are #1 after the pump boys left they simply set the lids back down if they arent sealed wont rain water leach in thru the soil , also I've heard about seperating wash machine grey water drain away from the septic , # 2 will it hurt to make ann above ground "stand pipe" so's I can dump my Camper? (nows the time) #3 and does that bacteria sh*t from the hardware store you dump in help with septic "life"

Tommy, get some Henry's roofing mastik and re-seal the lids where they meet the tank, this will also help keep the stink down.

Excellent idea, I've done them for people before, we usually dig a large hole, put about a 12" of 2" drain rock on the bottom, take a 55 gal drum and punch it full of holes, fill this with 1" to 2" drain rock mix, run your discharge hose to the drum, bury the drum about 12-18" above and on the sides with 2" drain rock and cover with soil, the rocks break up the soap, lint, etc and the water leaches out into the soil, no harm, no foul.

You'd be silly not to do it, find the inlet side of your septic, assuming it's 4" you're gonna need a 4"X4"X3" "combo" fitting, cut this in, run the 3" to wherever you want your camper dump, give it 1/4" per foot of slope, add a threaded female adapter and plug and you're home free.

Yes it does, between that and running your washing machine into the gravel pit, you'll extend not only the life of the thing, but also the time between services from the shit sucker guys. If you can find it use Hercules Products;

Hey Tom, the wife and I are planning to drive up on the 12th/13th to pick up that Ford motor. 1st I need the addy where to pick it up (new shop or old shop). 2nd need to find a cheap place to stay the night. I looked at the Best Western in Paso, but they want 140 a nite. And the other places didn't have any vacancy (or the reviews scared the hell out of me lol).

For Hotels I've used Priceline since around 04/5 and have paid between $30 to maybe max $80 per night at most Hotels. Always try and book 4 star.
Moving sucks big time. I'm still in the middle of moving houses and because of it could not go too Vegas last week! Real bummer cause my former neighbors daughters 21st., so would have been me and 4 college chicks. :banghead:

Sam theres only a couple places in the town , a motel 6 (check the reviews) is about a block form the old shop , lots of folks have used it when they visit , we wont officially completley vacate the current shop till close to the end of June. Interesting part is my current landlord has just seen fit to forgoe my rent for the entire month of June (we ask for just a few days) to compensate us for some of the inconvenience and damages due to the recent driveway construction , today I need to advise them we have decided to move the operation (required 30 day notice)
Rhonda and I spent a few hours yesterday morning at the "new" place made some serious progress , She mopped cleaned and swept , I fixed the prior tenants shitty construction efforts and hanged some sheet rock :banghead: (not my "forte'") ;)

ITS a HURCULEAN TASK! geeeze three flat beds and my Semi trailer, fork lifts at both places and " buddy Hondo Hal the mover" and we haven't seemingly put a dent in it ! The new shop is about three miles east of the old in a bigger park , more in the "country" , Got and off road guy a fiberglass shop, a body shop a tow company, a blacksmith and a Harley guy for neighbors , a little remote by comparison but an ass load more breathing room UPDATE : for anybody thats followed this at all ,what partially precipiated this move was that my landlord (quirky) arbitrarily deciced to repave in from of the shop in my busy season (despite my protest's) basically closing me down for a few days and the "grinding" of the asphalt and the lack of dust control (AQMD and EPA required,complaints filed ) ,etc made a huge mess of things (inside and out) After some "Letters" on our part They (the Landlord) decided to give us two months free rent for our damages and other "concerns" we thanked them and accepted thier appologies then advise them we were vacating the premisis after 15 years . Moving more stuff today Tom

Shop is looking great. I wish my move would go as quick as yours and you have way more stuff. Don't forget to reimind the new landlord not to back into any of your customer's boats in the lot. And make sure you post your new address in as many places as possible so we'll be able to find you. Or more correctly so our broken stuff can find it's way to you.

The New Guys cool , he's a former Bronc rider "Old Coyboy" , he comes by the new or Old place every day or so the see how the move is , the other day I ask him to clean the skylites , it was don the next day , yesterday I said I wanted some pea gravel spread in the "back forty parking " he said "consider it done ! Should have all the pallet racks up today and we'll start moving the rest of the "Shop" (tools equiptment lathe, mill etc etc ) today now that the inventory and ansulary Junk is moved ! Tom

I rented a 26 U-haul last week to bring some stuff too my Canadian house, never want too move stuff again! Did some research into Michael Jackson meds myself--good news for us, it was not the meds that killed him. Herd it was a six year old weiner he ate! I'm bad!
Shop looks great. I'll start a new thread, but if you want to clear out some used parts I might be interested, depending on how big a loan I can get! ;D
