The dog cant hang on the fireworks,shakin like a leaf...How do I calm him down ???

My Black Lab hates the fireworks, she barks at all of them :banghead:
We have to give her sleepy cheese to calm her down :thumbup:
Sleepy cheese = a slice of cheese with a Tylenol PM ;D

Are Dogs have jumped a six foot fense twice tonight rot dobi mix and kocker chickens both :-[

I got him in one of the bedrooms with a towel over his head/body after I gave him a cocktail...or two :sly:

Little Leo was running back and forth in the yard chasing the noises/lights and growling. He wore himself out and is crashed out on his pillow now. ;D
Oops, one more just went off and he took off out the back door, growling. ::)

Feed 'em a benedryl. my little puggles were going apeshit...I guess the wifey ate used up the benedryl that worked last year so I just gave the dog some attention and she calmed down.

If its just a 4th of july thing, drugs are a quick way to solve the problem but is of course temporary. Be careful with dose as size (of your dog) matters! If you want a longer term solution, you will need to start a program of positive reinforcement around noise stimulation or better yet, see a pro trainer.
If your dogs temperament is off, you may not be able to train out of the responses you are seeing. 4th is a disaster here in Phx as most of the pounds are overwhelmed with dogs who bail from overstimulation (fireworks).
fwiw-, I had a dobie that could care less about fireworks going off, but God forbid you let off a round near him (unless you were me or my wife). You could have called him "arm be gone".
I miss that dog
