Well as most of you know I have been doing the reserach on building a mini jet. So i can be an offical member of this club again. lol

anyway now i have the hull, pump, motor everything i need i have except labor time. So now it just a matter of elbow grease. The pump is in good hands at JBP with tom. He has taken it as a personal project and is pretty excited about the build.

My initial plan was to put the biggest jet ski engine i could find in this thing but the little berk just wont handle any more than 75hp and that is pushing it. It is the same internal diameter as an old Kawaski 440 stand up jet ski. So i am going to go with a 20 degree ptich and see how that works bolted up to a twin cylinder 700 that i have from a wave runner III.

well just wanted to keep you guys posted on whats going on with Project "small package" if this boat build works and is fun. I may look for another hull to drop that 1300cc 150hp jet ski set up in.

I think you're going to be fine. More than that, these 12J pumps we all routinely use are really only designed to handle around 500HP (Back then, that was a LOT), so I'd feel safe your 6J can handle a tad more than 70hp. Tommy'll figure it out.

You probably also figured it out already, but I'll illustrate it to the masses, Jet Ski, Wet Bike and Snowmobile engines are almost the same exact thing. These days, old Snowmobile engines from the north are a dime a dozen................. JIC any of you want to duplicate this thing Tony is prolly gonna finally hurt hisself in............

Caveman: I am hoping to get as close to 50mph as possible. I got a 21 pitch impeller going in it at PBP right now. I plan on using the Yami 701. I thought about the jet ski pump and i have 2 here at my place to chose from but i just HAD to use the mini berk. it is way too cool to shitcan. And we are trying to do a diverter. Jet skis dont have that option

Ray: Miss Aquaholic is expecting. Our first baby boy is due in August. And just in case this yami 701 is not enough i have a seedoo 1300 sittin on deck.

I will post some pics of the project this weekend. but there is a pic or two on this sight. I am not exactly sure where i put it but i would guess under the no wake zone.

I am hoping to have this on the water this summer.. lol got a baby on the way and i am building two other vehicles right now as well. Doing a restore on a 72 bultaco an building a myers manx for the wife.
