I need to get an intake polished, anyone got a friend or a hook up?
-
i had mine powder coated in some chrome color.....comes out lookin kinda polished but still nice
its nicer cuz u dont have to keep polishing it to keep it up ya heard
-
was yours polished before you had it coated? Jeff from Embee told me that if it wasn't polished before he coats it, it will not be smooth, the finish will mock the texture of the manifold
-
Magic metal here in Bakersfield did mine and they came out great. I believe that they were pretty reasonable. They are on Ming Ave across from the fair grounds in a Yellow building
-
WELL THEY SAND BLAST IT BEFORE THEY POWDER COAT IT SO IT DOSENT REALLY MATTER IF ITS POLISHED OR NOT

Actually it does douchebag. Beadblasted metal is not as smooth as polished metal, any f ucktard with a 3rd grade education knows that. Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of and eat a dick, thank you.
-
WELL JUST SO U KNOW MY BUDDYS UNCLE OWNS A POWDERCOATING SHOP AND THEY SAND BLASTED MINE B 4 THEY POWDERCOATED IT AND IT STILL CAME OUT SMOOTH...IT DEPENDS ON THE AMOUNT OF POWDER THEY PIT ON IT...THE TEMPETURE THEY BAKE IT AND AND HOW LONG THEY BAKE IT FOR....
SO GO FUCK YOUR SISTER U HILLBILLY FUCK
-
:D :D :D this is entertaining

It took about a week.

The shop I know is in Santa Fe Springs and was quoted about I can get it done cheaper for you but the shop is in Santa Fe springs so shipping back and forth is going to eat up any savings.

I think what Scarface is talking about with the polishing is that the intake he has is rough cast, not smooth like the polished one he should have bought would be ;D
They can be sanded baby butt smooth, but its time consuming as hell...which is what makes it so expensive...
Hi Skip! ;)

You still alive? Holy Shit! Fuc k it I'm taking it all to the polisher on Thursday, finned Cal Custom valve covers, new intake, tstat housing and scoop, and maybe a driveline cover if I find one cheap enough before then. How's Hellsperia? How's the cruiser?
PS- If I didn't pick on people on the internet, usually people who deserve it BTW, the last 15 years of my life would have been just plain boring.
Oh yeah, do you know anyone with some American Turbine wheels they want to off?

American Turbines?!?! You going way back to the 80's? Growing your mullet out and start wearing fluorescent t-shirts?! You trying to re-live your jet ski days?!?!?!?!!!
I just found out the cruiser is pretty much a Connolly... 78 was when they bought the molds from Unlimited Marine (mines a 78)... nothing changed cept the deck in 84 to make it "sleeker".. so either its an pre connolly or a very early connolly... either way. I'm stoked!
Hellsperia sucks. If I dont get some hot rod work in soon, I'm moving to Bako and plunging convicts toilets with you!
