Title: Need a tunnel ram picked up in Phoenix or Elsinore
Post by: Blue on March 26, 2008, 07:46:08 PM
I found a tunnel ram in Phoenix that I want to buy. The guy selling to claims all the shipping costs to be in the $90 range ???. He is in Phoenix but said he gets to Elsinore and Fontana often. Is anyone around those areas that could grab it for me??

Im in Central Cal. I figured I could network it up to me from person to person or find someone with a better shipping deal. On Ebay T/R's are only $25-$40 to my door so I dont know why he is getting quotes so high

I just won a TR on ebay. The guy sends the invoice and shipping was $76. I said aint no way I'm paying that. The guy got his panties all in a wad over it. I told him to check with Fedex, he was haveing no part of it. I shipped my blower to Brock last year for a little over twenty bux (68 lbs). I set it on the counter at Fedex one evening at 6:00 and they were at Brocks door the next AM at 10:00.

He could just be a dumb ass and trying to use a private postal company who is gouging him.

I had the same issue with a guy who knew his ebay'ed unpolished tunnel ram was worth $400, in spite of my summit racing showing him a new for $310. We had a $175 agreed price, so he tries to nail me with $110 shipping.  ::) :screwy:

Well,  I have a fex ex account that is on line. I make a shipper to myself from him (charged to my own account of course), I email him a pdf of the label. Literally all he had to do was print it, stick it on top of the box, and drop it at any fedex / kinkos in the world. He still had issues with that complicated proceedure ('cause he wasn't getting any more money!) but finally relented a week later and shipped it out. I think for me it was $28 total from Oregon (I get a great discount).

I go to elsinore too, so I could potentially pick it up. I also have to go up to gardenia so that could get it a little closer.

He wants to know if p/u tomorrow is possible (Thursday). Im gonna tell him the weekend would be better. If anybody can do this that would be awesome and I will get you "taken care of" when I head down there to boat.

Now the guy wants cash on pickup. I told him that would be a little hard to do obviously. I offered to send a Money Order tomorrow. I will let ya know what he says.

You can't blame him, if I had something I sold, I wouldn't want to give it up till I was paid either.

Sure a local craigslist doesn't have one for ya??? Unless of course you are getting a smokin' deal - usually they are a PIA - which is why you can get 'em....

I can get it picked up from either Elsinore or Fontana... then figure out a cheaper way to get it North if need be.

Or maybe get my cousin to pick it up (he's in Phoenix) and get you a better shipping rate?

You should drag that hulk of yours to Smellsomemore on the the Pre Parker Test N Tune weekend, Sat april 5th. If you get that intake, get it to me, when I go get my seats (in Lodi) I'll take it to f*ckface, errr I mean Blue  ;D

Thanks for all the offered help. I am amazed by the response. I passed on the deal since the guy pissed me off. He told me 2x's not to send a MO then he said do it, then he said overnight it and I told him nevermind. If you guys even need a hand my way let me know.
