Hey guys you have been informative and I love this site. I thinking of removing the bow rail from my daycruiser to give it that sleek look. Problem is that the screws going into the deck are frozen solid. I know they are stainless so drilling them out is not going to work. Do any of you have any expertize that you can pass on that will help me get these out?

Hey Roger,
Are they through bolted? Just break from underneath if so. Stainless breaks pretty easy. :thumbup:
You can drill them out with a cobalt bit at very low speed...They are probably stainless machine screws with steel nuts.....

I didn't think to look if they where thru bolted because the one that came out was a wood type screw. I will crawl under the deck today and check.

Like Gt said you can drill them out at a slow speed with a cobalt drill bit But I would go one step further and use a left handed threaded cobalt drill bit , reverse rotation drill bit w/e you want to call them, I use them every time I'm drilling out a broken bolt or stripped head screw, Most the time the bit will catch/grip then spin the bolt/screw out before you finish drilling the hole...
