Title: New Door mat?

My wife has a day care at our house and one of the moms just came to pick up her child.  I heard screaming at my front door and found this all coiled up sitting on my front door mat and shaking it's rattle...   yard rake and hoe to the rescue just in time.

My wife said belt >:D  This sucker struck the hoe a few times before I got it properly pinned.  Scary part was my dog came about 3 inches from it's face trying to sniff it before I got her to back away and put her in the house.

It measured 35" and I skinned it, pinned the skin and tossed the meat in the deep freeze.  I have never made rattlesnake before, any cooking suggestions?

I told my mom about the garden rake. That was good thinking. Long with a wide flat surface.
There are some rattlers out here also. Even saw a couple at the lake.

You should dip the head in clear lacquer and stick a key chain off the back.

Thats cool, but I smashed the head with the hoe when I was trying to kill the snake >:(  I got the skin though.
