Oh hell no Ray :screwy:   Nah just needed a lil project and this came up.  But after the woman drove it home, and to the mall to pick up my daughter, I think this project might be me fixing it up and me not driving it :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:  And now the missuses and my daughter are not seeing eye to eye about who is going to drive it.   My daughter turns 16 this year.   The Expedition is what I was going to give my daughter, she loves it and has been keeping it clean, and all. But now with the vette things have changed.   So I say to hell with them all, it's MINE!!!!!

its what i do best! but its all in good fun!

did you ever find the coolant leak? probably something simple! also quit saying corvette when you go to get parts...start cross referencing stuff...you'll find alot of the chevy stuff used the same as vette! there was some trick stuff to the vette, but not all of it! my friend just bought one pretty cheap from the shop i used to part time at, and we did extensive work to it, and it wasnt astronomical amounts of money, and that was a 2001 Z51 package car

I plan on using backing plates underneath, which will give it support, but I also wanted to fix those tears too, anyway. Just not sure on how to fix the plastic, or rubber crap ???

A few things done, I did get the blinker indicators, and high beam indicator to work after pulling the dash apart. Took the steering column apart also to get the blinker to turn off when you turned the wheel the other way. Got me a cheapy harbor freight plastic welder and welded the door panel that was about half cracked, now the rear bumper will be my next target with the welder. That shit works good! Replaced the broken door handle, and put in a new door lock. Fixed the pad on top of the door panel ( 2 of the plastic studs were broke} Replaced both the lower window wipes, Put in a foam sound barrier between the door and panel, ( the one that was there was missing) Re-glued the carpet and some plastic parts on the door panel, and then painted. Whew

They had a variety of them at good ole harbor freight, which I opted for the high dollar (12 bucks) LOL one. Not bad of a deal really came with what is basicallly a soldering iron, with a 3/4 x 3/4 soldering head, a wire brush to clean the head, a little chickenshit stand for the iron, and about 25 plastic welding strips, and also some wire mesh, which my dumbass wasn't to sure how to use. Said in all the directions was perfect for use on the plastic/rubber parts of autos. I tested on the door panel which was cracked almost in half, and it turned out tits, stronger than shinola >:D So next was the back part, and after prepping it, welding it, then sanding smooth, I was done. Even took a 3/4 extension bar and pushed pretty dammnn hard on it to see if I could break it, and it didn't  and a few of these since I didn't fruck it up

I still can't beleive Mark and Dave never heard of these welders before, lol!  O0   You guys need to get outta Cali more! I first used one redoing my, then new, Shelby Charger's front spoiler back in '83! Got paid by the insurance company from a deer collision, took the cash to fix it myself. Paid for the welder, did a bunch of other peeps crap and made some coin, then sold it for what I paid for it.

Looks to me like you learned how to use it pretty damn quick Mark!

Yeah, fitting it all back together again.......remember that too........think I'd sooner stick my privates in a beehive than do THAT again...... :sly:
