Amp instalation question
« on: January 16, 2008, 07:08:15 PM »
Can anyone tell me how to hook up my amp to my deck/speakers?

I have 2 6x9 Blaupunkts hooked up to the front right and left channels so far.  They are rated at 80RMS and 240 peak

I want to hook up 2 of these also  Alpine Type R10

I need to know if the "bridge" wire is installed correctly... it came differently but wouldn't play directly from the deck until I changed it to this configuration

I will be using this to power them

It is an Audiofonics ADF-242

My deck has RCA? jacks on the back for the rear channel and the amp has RCA? inputs for channel 1/2 and 3/4

Please help

I can, as well as several others on here.   ;)  619-787-7987

I don't understand if your amp is already in your vehicle powering the  6 X 9 Blaupunkts or if they are in there powered by the stereo?   ???

The woofer in the picture is wired correctly if it's the only woofer in the system and is going to be powered by a mono/bridged signal.

I don't know anything about your Audiofonics ADF-242, I don't know if it's bridgeable ( I am assuming it is otherwise you wouldn't have it), load/impedence requirements, nothing...  ???

If you want my help call me... I think you have a beer credit at the moment...  :D

Power the 6 X 9's with 1 & 2 and bridge 3 & 4 for the sub, probably............

Basically the amp is a 4 channel amp. Typically 4 channel amps are used to power a Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, Rear Right speaker setup.

However, since you're gonna be running subs and the rear outs from the deck, you'll only need to hook up channels 1 & 2 L/R. 3 and 4 would have nothing going to them.

For subs, it's best to bridge the output of 1 and 2 if it is bridgeable. If you could post a link or a copy of the owners manual that would help out immensely.
