Welcome to the new and improved SoCalJetBoats.com
Everything from the old site was converted over. If there is something you cant find, or cant do, or anything, please ask. Its all here, it just might take some time getting used to where things are.
If you guys see anything thats quirky or doesnt work, or anything, please let me know.
If you notice one of the large additions to the site is the ability to Instant Message. There is a blue bar along the bottom of the page. On the left side there is a "Who's Online" button. In order to get people on your buddy list, you need to add them via their profile. On the left side there is a link that looks like this: [Add To Buddy List] The other person MUST add you as well. When that person is online, they will show up in your buddy list and you will be able to instant message with them like AIM, gtalk, or Facebook.
On the left side of the tool bar are several icons. The first one is a Home button (it will take you to the home page). The second is an envelope. It will take you to your personal messages. The next 3 are Social Network share buttons for Myspace, Twitter, and Facebook. If you are on a thread thats just rockin your socks and ya gotta tell your buddys about it, click that button and it will load up a window that will let you share that thread with your preferred social network. The last one is a speaker button. It will Mute the audio notifications of your Instant Messages.

That blue bar your taking about.....it's there, but it's about half way down, not at the bottom if the page. Anybody else have this?

What browser are you using? internet explorer? firefox? If you know the software version of the browser, that will help too.

I agree that background is too bright, but maybe just make the text more dark? Definitely looks a bit better in the reply box.
Now this is just an observation from an old guy but is there really a need/demand for the IM, Twit, FB etc. stuff? While Chat has never really been popular, I can see some times when IM would be nice. It would save a phone call or waiting around for an online reply, but the other stuff? Really? I guess now that it is done, its done, but I hope you didn't spend too much time adding it to an already awesome site.
Might be a good time to start rattling that tip jar again :thumbup:

I agree that background is too bright, but maybe just make the text more dark? Definitely looks a bit better in the reply box.
i will play with the text color and see if i can make it a bit easier on the eyes.

its all a test....i spent a ton of money/time on the auction coding that i added to this site awhile ago. i thought for sure it would be a hit....boy i was wrong. It flopped hard. ....so same thing with the bar on the bottom....If no one uses it, i will remove it.

Brad my tapatalk doesnt seem to be working now....it keeps asking my login info...i type it in "correct password " and hit ok...it just goes back to login screen...is this something im missing?

I noticed that last night too when I went to test it. I didnt get a chance to look into it any further. I will see what I can find here shortly.

my phone is having the same issue as well, but after a couole seconds the blue bar drops to where it belongs

I just added a bunch of peeps to my friends list. We'll see how it goes. Sorry to hear about the unemployment thing Brad. Things do seem to be picking up a bit though, maybe you will get called back sooner than you think.

Brad, first off let me give you a big pat on the back and had you a beer :beer:, the site looks awesome and that youre trying some new things and keeping it interesting is fantastic.
With that said, I dont even mind the bright background but it does tend to wash out the text for me as well.
Regardless, awesome job. I wish another site would have done something but THAT is a whole nutha story......

With safari on my iPad. Blue bar issue as well as some button like classified do not work.

I just tried the IM thang. The window looks great but it is awful small. Also either Crewchief ignored me or he just didn't sign out. Peeps are gonna have to start remembering to sign out. Or I guess we can all just find out the hard way, kinda like a kid with his nose pressed up against the window and no one will let him in. LOL

Well right outa the gate...I think it just takes getting use to the chang, & Brad U now have the time to do it.
if I might add just some constructive criticism though....I do agree that it seems hard on my eyes. Maybe i'm jus gettn old :)

I dont like the background either, to bright for my old eyes. Didnt the old, old, old version have an option in the look and layout thing where you could change the background ? Would that be possible with this version.

lower left of my screen, "who's online" does not work, only comes up grey screen, top bar blue, does this tell me who is online like lower rite of home page

OK.
I was able to make a contribution using the "Tip Jar" on the home page.
I would like to see more contrast between the text and the back ground.
Perhaps you can change to black text on the current background.

I have a long list of things to tweek and fix on the site. The darkening the text color is one of them. I will be getting to these items today.

The black text is much easier on my old tired eyes.

You can adjust the size yourself.
Hold down your CTRL button on the keyboard and scroll the wheel on your mouse.

that works on all browsers on all websites. its not just a SCJB thing.

i saw the video, but its not there now....i wonder if he deleted it and thats the reason it was giving you the error.

the video is back now :screwy: ...i just posted a test message on it (and deleted it) and it worked fine...give it another shot.
