Title: New to site. ? on value of boat.
Post by: mcclellan.4 on June 26, 2010, 04:06:31 AM
Hello.  New member.  Thinking about buying an '82 Apache 18' with recently built Chevy 350 (slightly above stock).  Panther drive.  Exterior original in good condition.  Interior original and needs seats recovered and carpet replaced.  Tandem trailer.  Looks to be solid boat.  Located in TN.  Asking $5000.  Seems a little high compared to other boats I'm seeing in classifieds.  Any thoughts on value?

Thanks.  A little lower than I expected.  Is the main driver the panther vs berkley or is the small block an issue also?  Why is berkley the preferred jet?

Welcome ! Apache jets were/are great boats , always liked the styling and lines , have restored and converted a couple , The SBC/Panther is a decent combo (although the Panther is not my weapon of choice) Value is relative and "geographical" , In Cali jet boats are plentifull and that boat would , as said sell for a lot less , Good luck  Tom

Thanks for the help guys.  Looked at boat today and not in shape I'm looking for.  I think the input given was right on (for value).  Thanks again.
