Considering that there is only 5-10 people on at any given time, yes, this site is slow. I am using a crappy shared server host and want to move it to a new one, but I am very concerned it might bomb out durring the transfer, not to mention it would take A LOT of work.

I've been watching this site for a couple months now and really it has a great bunch of people that have straight information when needed and a good sense of humor the rest of the time ;D.Let me know if you decide to get rid of it.
I am now the proud new owner of a 77 Hondo T-deck that I rescued from the Central Valley and brought back to SoCal where it belongs. I'm trying to get it ready to take to the river this weekend. I'll post some pictures soon.

But I love boats, especially jets and v-drives. Unfortunately I cant say that I have a boat right now which is just sad. Summer is wasting away and I cant even get off the shore. Weak!

I had to have the motor done twice because someone didn't cleanout the oil passeges the first time(pumped metal shavings through the motor >:( next trip out it spun the front bearing in the jet,had it fixed, next trip same thing this time at the back of the lake and water was flowing into the boat through the bearing :o(assembled wrong) . Fixed it myself after that, no more problems . Next trip no problems ;D, or so I thought, got home and the boat was still dripping water so I look under it and what do I see , a BIG ASS CRACK IN THE HULL :'( :'( :'( !! So I gave up on this boat/pile of sh#@!!!! And bought the 21 ft Eliminator Daytona in the project boat section with the idea of useing my 460 and a Berkeley jc pump that I have sitting in my garage. So what do you all think of this plan or should I stick with the big ugly outboard ?Reread your post and you'll answer your own question about the outboard. Beauty my friend is in thee eye of the beerholder... ;) Ohh yea...and take a look at my avatar and you'll see with ones running... ;D

You know sav (and Paul), I'm new to all of this, but I think if the Olds is done properly it's a good motor (just need to address the oil return issue). In fact, if I had the know-how and $$, I'd like to build-up my 455 in my Kona and race it in the jet class for SCJB (I guess I should just get it running first ;) ).
We will connect eventually; I can always get a ride with flytime when something is organized.
My plan with this first boat was to get it running, use this season, then sell it and try to find a deal on a project open bow (I have 3 kids so my Kona is just way too small); my plan still stands; I'll be pulling it apart and see what I've got; my guess is a piston rod and pan will get it back in action (but this season is likely done). If worst comes to worst, I'll part it out (but I don't want to go that route is I don't have to; I'd like to see this Kona live on).
The Kona(patches) can still live on even if someone else owns it a puts a new motor in. We cant lay patches to rest yet. :(I know but only 2 ways to get money out of it so I can look for the open-bow project:
What filter should it use ? Thats the one the motor builder gave it to me with ?any help is appericated this is my first jet boat project so johnny 5 need input ;D

I've been "riding" boats for awhile, and finally picked up my first jet boat about two months ago. Its a sweet little Southwind with a 468bbc. With having the family along, its fun to ride and yank someone off the tube. Nice site for us jet boaters!
