I will be leaving around noon friday with our nostalgia nitro funny car. It looks to be another great turn out with drag racing, car shows, venders and swap meet. This is a three day race but we are not racing till sunday. Friday after the races end everyone heads over to the double tree hotel where they hold a cruise along with a bbq and drinks. They have old race cars set up through the hotel lobby and under the valet patio, It is just a great night. And the big thing on saturday night will be the cackle fest where 50 some of the most popular diggers alterds and any other nitro burning cars from the 60's and 70's will be pushed or towed down the return lane and the set up on the track where they are lit off. IT IS TRULEY UNDESCRIBABLE Sorry for rambling on but if you are out there be sure to stop by the PISANO & MATSUBARA pits it will be right up front with the rest of the big boys. Oh ya I'll be the rather large guy the answers to mike.

I think Skip (Luckie Stiff) said he was going to this....looks like a killer time.
i was just in bako...and might be up there again on the 20th.....i'd go, but 3 weekends in a row in bako is a little too much bako for me!
-
ya three weeks is a lil much i would say, but you are right it is a killer time.

CH-
I haven't missed a CHRR since the first one in '92! Weather is looking to be iffy for Friday and the first part of Saturday, but I'll still be there. I'll look you up in the pits, isn't that the car that Capps shoes when he's not on tour?
-
Coors,
I've talked about going to the HRR for a couple years and still have not done it. If I didn't already have plans to go to the river this weekend I would have considered it.
Have a good time

Heavy ....
If ya go to b-fast with Joe M. My buddy Brian Pain will be there. Give him hell for me!!!
Yep!!! He knows me as AA/Paul. Can ya get a pick of the back of the car as it does a burnout?
Remember...don't lift till yer wrists touch!!! >:D
-
I'm kinda busy on the fire up and the burn out but I'll have someone take a picture for ya. No problem
-
I usually b-fast at Zingo's just off the freeway.
Stayed at the hotel just north of it one time. Flea bag mother!!! But it was raining and i didnot feel like sleeping in the orange groves in the rain ick>. About 3am a deal goes bad so the guy pops a couple shots down the hallway. I go back to sleep for a hour before the cops show up and wake me up again!!!

YA THERE ARE SOME PRETTY SHADY PLACES UP THERE. YOU SEE ALL THE GOOD STUFF, I ESPECIALLY LIKE WHEN THE BLACK HOOKERS ARE COMING AND GOING ALL NIGHT. THEY COME DOWN FROM SOMEONES ROOM GO TO THE LOBBY BAR PICK UP ANOTHER GUY. COMEDY OH YA ZINGOS IS THE ONLY PLACE FOR B-FAST WE ALWAYS STOP THERE ON THE WAY IN RIGHT OFF OF BUCK OWENS DRIVE.
-
Hey Heavy...I heard it was a good time out there.
How'd ya guys do?
-
YA IT WAS A BLAST AND THE PLACE WAS PACKED. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT MANY PEOPLE AND CARS THERE. WE DID PRETTY WELL OURSELFS 19 CARS SHOWED UP IN OUR CLASS AND IT WAS A CHICAGO STYLE RACE. WHERE THE 8 FASTEST COME BACK IN WHICH WE WERE NUMBER 6 WITH A 6.13 @ 222MPH. AND OUT OF THOSE 8 THE TWO QUICKEST WINNERS COME BACK BUT WE ENDED UP NUMBER 3 AND JUST MISSED THE NUMBER TWO SPOT. WE RAN A 6.124 @ 227 AND NUMBER 2 RAN 6.118. THE TOP TWO GUYS ARE BIG MONEY GUYS WITH A S H I T LOAD OF MONEY IN THESE CARS SO FOR A LOW BUDGET OPERATION LIKE US TO RUN WITH THE BIG BOYS I REALLY THINK WE RAISED SOME EYEBROWS WITH IN OUR CLASS AND ALSO TO ALL THAT FOLLOW THE NOSTALGIA RACING IN GENERAL.

A COUPLE MORE PICS FROM THE WEEKEND

Coors Heavy- Hats off to your team and the rest of the NFC teams, man what an awesome (yeah I said awesome) show! It's bitchin' to see the NFC class is keeping true to it's roots visually, hopefully they'll never go the way of the TFD class, frickin' high chairs! Again, kudos to all the NFC guys, looking forward to March Meet and the new race series!!! Oh yeah, not sure if y'all know about this or not, I'll post more info as it comes, but I do know this, no high chairs, no computers, no brake lights at the line! Gonna be a blast!

THANKS LUCKIE I REALLY APPRECIATE IT WE AS A TEAM WERE ALL REAL HAPPY WITH HOW WE PREFORMED. WE WILL BE OUT AT THE MARCH MEET FOR SURE, BUT RIGHT NOW WE ARE GETTING THE CAR READY FOR THE SEMA SHOW AS OUR OIL SPONSER WANTS IT ON DISPLAY. AND AS FAR AS THE ENGINE IN THERE WE STARTED WITH JP-2 AND CRACKED IT AND NOW WE RUN AN ARIAS 500 IT WAS THE LASTEST CAST BLOCK THEY MADE RIGHT BEFORE THE BIG BOYS WENT TO BILLET AND IT SEEMS TO BE HOLDING UP TO WHAT WE ARE DOING TO IT.
