Thought all air Brake Systems had a spring Brake that locks up the brakes if you lose all air pressure?

Not unless the Brakes are so worn down and have excessive travel that the S cam  flips then you got nothing" ☹️

Ah true that.  Didn't think about flipping the S cam.  I've only seen that once.  We don't let our brakes get that low.

I'm actually doing a front bearing repack right now.

Looks to me like the driver backed in and didn't set the brakes. Even if the brakes are worn enough, 99% of the time they'll lock up and won't release if they cam over... unless the linings are completely gone

That was my thought.  Drivers do it all the time here

Same here. I've had some of my guys either back into the fence and swear they did their walk around, then don't have an answer as to how they checked the lights on the trailer. Or not set the brakes and roll into the culvert along the opposite fence.
Once had a guy swear someone broke the window in his truck and steal his radio .. come to find out he took the radio home the previous friday ... and no one broke the window, he just didn't roll it up
 ...the list goes on
