Title: Oil change advice needed
Post by: GlassCutter on June 23, 2007, 12:09:07 PM: I need to change the oil in my 455 and it looks darn near impossible to do. Does anyone make some kind of a suction device or am I going to have to lift the whole motor out. No wonder the oil looks black as hell. Does anyone know any marine repair places in the I.E. that they would recommend? Thanks

drain tube....hook it up to your drain plug and its just loose in your bildge...when you wanna drain your oil, feed the tube out of your bildge drain on your pump. I think every boat should have one of these.

I heard of people pulling the drain plug and letting it drain into their bildge, then draining it out the bildge drain....then whipe the bildge down when done.

....also heard of people pulling the plug before the road trip back home and letting it drop on the road accross the desert lol

Post by: hotrod56cars on June 23, 2007, 02:19:33 PM: There should be 3 pieces with it, the line, the plug for the end of the line, and an adaptor to go from the line to the oil pan's drain plug threads. Install the adaptor first and you won't half to pull the engine to install it.
