Title: oil removal

how is everyone removing oil from the engine without taking the engine out of the boat? i tried using a vaccum pump thru the dipstick, what a pain in the ass that was, i was only able to remove a quart in an hour and a half. what do you  guys recomend thats easyier and faster? thanks :banghead:

I use a vacuum pump but I pull the dipstick slide tube out of the pan insert so I can stick a bigger piece of tube in there. Or you can do it like my friend and just pull the drain bolt and put a bucket by the plug. Then scrub all the oil out of the bilage.

Before I put the motor in my boat im gonna put a fumoto drain valve in place of the drain bolt and put a quick connect fitting on it that way all I have to do is lift the bow connect the hose and run it through the plug hole into a bucket.

I have a banjo fitting on mine and a hose that runs out past the transom .

i pull mine out of the boat.  2 water hoses, starter cable, unplug the wire harness and unbolt the mounts.  done deal.  its therapeutic.   ^-^

I put together a little 12 volt oil pump that sucks it out of the dipstick hole, takes about 2 1/2 mins to suck it dry
