opinions on new boat purchase
« on: July 09, 2007, 10:25:23 AM »
ok i went over to to see this guy that has the boat i want, and he started it up for me, and it ran good, and quiet i might add....460 ford, just rebuilt , misc polished parts .here is some info on the boat....

1978 OMEGA 22', DAYCRUISER, 21.5', OLD SCHOOL COLORS: YELLOW,BROWN,ORANGE W/MATCHING BIMINI, 460 FORD, JACUZZI PUMP W/MANUAL PLACE DIVERTER, SEATS 8, OPEN BOW, COVER, STEREO, $4200.00 OBO

im still tring to sell my boat , and this guy finally put and add in the paper, i think its going to go fast, boat looks to be in good shape, less stress cracks than mine, jucuzzi pump, looks clean, has a wedge already and a diverter, which mine does not........any thoughts......im hopeing he'll take 3500.00 to 3800.00 we will see, get back to me if you can, thanks guys......

Interesting open bow conversion. Put it on the water before you hand him the cash.

My boat is a 1974 eliminator and has teh exact hull as that one. I love the boat but she aint gonna run fast without ALOT of motor ! I love her and she can take some pretty stout water but she dont fly like AN 18 FT TUNNEL!

Other than the speed the boat is AWESOME! The handling is great, I can go into chop that will sink most jets. no water over the sides or back! and she still shoots a nice tail even at 55!

my first boat was a 19' omega mini day cruiser with jacuzzi jet and 455 olds, other than the 455 olds i never had a problems with the hull or the jet, hull seemed pretty stout, and i did beat on that boat pretty bad, just could not get a reliable 455, sold it to my best friend, he ran it for a year then sold it to another buddy, as far as i know its still around a doing good, finally got a good motor in it.

Paint that sucker again and redo the interior and you have a killer party boat to load all your friends and its still a jet boat. I am selling my COLE because i need a bigger boat to fit more people.

Sorry Chromey ! I forgot the usefull info . Look at the bottom ans see how straight it is . If there is a big dip in the bottom , it will be a little harder to get on plane (I think) . Look at the intake , make sure the from and back of the intake is flush with the bottom also . I think it looks killer and even though you  already paid for it . This is still stuff you should look at . In a cruiser you probably wont ever notice how much it is hindering you but any of this in severity should be fixed . Looks like a bad ass cruiser .
