Post by: bluenun on March 25, 2007, 10:19:20 AM
Here are some pics of the Tahiti. She was pretty oxidized and dirty but is cleaning upawesome. I have some Gelcoat restorer on the way but I had to throw a coat of wax on just for fun. By the way the pump is a JI with an a impeller. Does anyone have experience with the JI pump?

That Tahiti has great colors to it, looks real good. I've never heard of a JI pump... first full stringer Tahiti I've ever seen.   ;)

I have never heard of a JI pump either....can you take some close up pictures of the ID tag on the pump? its right by the hand hole cover.

looks like a killer boat....im sure oldrigger can chime in with some history on that hull model....he (and/or his dad), i believe, used to rig for tahiti back in the day.

congrats on the buy!

I paid $600 for it. It came with a set of Bassett water inj. headers. Glenwood front and rear motor mounts for BBC alot of stainless lines, new floors, carpet and it was totaly rewired and the new JI pump. I will post pics often of this project when I get time to work on it. I am not hopeful of getting it in the water this summer. I need a steering assembly/place diverter if anyone has one that will work with this pump.

Dats not mild. Not a bad deal though. How many hours on it? I know were two nice BB are for less than $500. Another $2500 thrown at Don at D&D Performance and you have a sweet brand new 325hp.

That might be tough. I know of a 2 bolt near Pismo for $350 but it need rebuit. You find any 4 bolt for $500 that can run and I'll buy it. Maybe check some junk yards for an old Suberban. 1978 and 1979 Dullies came with 4 bolt. I bought an old Sanger for the motor some time ago. Might try that to. Good luck

this stuff is getting much harder to find. I don't know exactly how many hours are on it. Not more than 20 or so. I can get receipts too.
