Please buy AMERICAN!! I know times are tough for alot of people right now , but if we don"t start buying AMERICAN it"s just gonna get tougher!! So please suck it up , spend the extra couple bucks and keep OUR money in OUR country!

I only build AMERICAN ENGINES and I BUY AMERICAN.
I've worked on Merc. Benz, Ferarri, Rolls, Imports etc. and for years I just turn them away ;D
Sad to say though I get more calls on that stuff instead of domestic :thumbdown:

yeah if at all possible by american...you never know whos job you are saving it might even be your own!!!!! its not always possible but if at all possible

I make an effort to buy American and to buy from the smaller local shops.

Though I gotta say, just about a week ago I installed a Edlecrock Intake on my 340, in big letters on the front on the intake it says "built in USA".... there wasn't a fockin thing that didn't fit from that intake.... even their "bolt kit" didn't work like it should have.... somebody go throw an intake through their front window for me and tell them to get their quality control under control :mad:

Have you ever really tried to buy American...I mean really tried.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
I had to go buy some tools when I got my new job, some of mine were getting old and needed replacing and some of the tools I used were my old shops....
Anyway, had to get about $6000 worth of crap. Anything with an electronic anything, you could not buy american, I don't care what it was it was made in F-ing China.....
Went to go buy a work light with a stand, no such thing in the US...even the "American Lighting Co." made in friggen China.....
Then I go to buy some workboots.....don't even go there. :thumbdown:
I bought a Master Lock lock out tag out kit.......Made in Indonesia :mad:
I bought a bunch of stuff from Victor, all suposedly made in the U.S. but all of the holders, strikers, tips and hoses were flippin' Chinese.
We better get our crap together or we will be eating rice with every damn meal........ :banghead: :mad: :banghead: :mad:

By choice I gave up a huge portion of my income refusing to work on foreign crud :thumbdown:

keep buying overseas crap and dave will have to learn how to fix it.

It's only gonna get harder to do. Other places can make stuff so much cheaper.
NO punitive taxes
NO OSHA
NO need for a legal dept.
NO overtime pay
NO air conditioned offices
NO UNIONS etc.
We will never be the manufacturer for the world again. History has an evolution. When England settled the colonies, Europe was the place to go for technology and manufacturing. Gradually the colonies began to supply more and more raw materials and eventually enen overtook Europe in factory output. We are now getting our goods from second world countries that are not bound by labor or pollution restraints. Their employees are glad to go home to a shack and don't expect a 3000 sq ft house on the wages of a laborer (no matter how skilled). They also don't have any income protection if they are injured or out of work. It is two different economic worlds out there.
We have to excel in technology, innovation, and invention if we are to stay out in front. That is what has worked ever since WWII. The invention of the internet and faster computers is what pulled us out of our last recession. We also are going to have to get used to having China India and Brazil as equal partners on the world stage. We owe China so much money they are beginning to get scared we can't pay it back. They don't want that to happen. India is a democracy with a lot left over from the British. They know what they are doing that is successful, and they have watched the west for a long time. Brazil is resource rich and energy independent, that is what worked so well for us for the last 150 years.
If you haven't read "The Post-American World" by Zaheed Fahria (sp) you should. Its gonna be interesting for our kids -- good or bad. It will never be the same as we grew up expecting it would be.
Now back to boating. Sorry for the ramble

i never had a problem with buying american, but when do you come accross it? when i do i feel good about it, because i know an honest tax paying person is working on it and i am fine with that...however almost everything is imported between china taiwan mexico indonesia etc...it terrible, but what do you do? my tools for work are all american made except my boots...boots are made shit who knows, but they are overpriced and comfy...i couldnt justify 100 bucks more for redwings that i find to be very uncomfortable...because when your feet hurt your whole body hurts! even buying an american vehicle isnt so much american...everything is cast out of the country then assembled here in america...that honestly is what nissan and toyota even do so whats so different about that? even though i own gm? was looking at one of our f650 delivery trucks at work the other day and everything said made in mexico? WTF is that???? but they all do it!!!! all these companys care about it profits...my grandma was a union worker in a plant for honeywell...they told her hey we are moving to new mexico, and luckily she had enough time in to retire so she did right before the move...so honeywell went there and not even 2 years later they moved to mexico...just shit like that....not sure if i got my point accross or if this is another nordie pointless rant!!!!

Tattoos and strippers are American. Just had to throw it in. Come to think of it, so are domestic beers!
America is crumbling like the Roman Empire did. So toss a few back at the strip club and then get a tattoo.
Bought my son a Crossman BB gun because it was made in America. Damn Daisy was made in China. My $3.00
extra might help keep someone a job. This is a deep topic with no easy solution.
