He told me he can do just about any color, and charges like 300 bucks for a pair of headers. Who was that? Or does anyone else know of this person?

That would be:

Embee Coating
2100 Ritchey Street
Santa Ana, CA 92705
714-546-6907

Jeff, Tiki on the forums and NJBA racer, is manager there.  They have a lot of experience in coating parts for jet boats (particularly what to NOT blast and coat).  Having them do my headers was some of the best $ I have ever spent.

Cheers,

Joe

Edit:  can't do "any" color on headers.  Only blue and gloss/satin black and silver.

Thanks for the info gents, I want to coat them white, but blue might work as well. I'll call Kings up and see what they can do for me, if they don't have header experience I guess it'll be blue :D

I had two sets done at Embee both were great and good prices. The cromex is nice and now I have black and like them.

I would do ceramic coat not powder, not sure jay can ceramic. So you may have to hit up Jakes guy.

Here is the job Embee did on two sets of headers. Just remember the cromex is still a lot of work. Both set are ceramic coated and run a lot cooler.

Embee did the ceramic on my headers and the powder coat on the rest of the motor. Good work and good prices.
Not sure the pics are going to come up, they didn't in the preview.

Jay at Kings can do your headers.

Is it true with the black coating, that oil spots stick? Or do they burn off like cromex?
