OK guy's help me out here. does anyone know where i can have this done? I need to do a set of Bassetts, depending on price ;D
And they need to be cleaned like sand blasted or something For a 455 Olds I guess it dont matter what its for but anyways. Key word for today is Powder coat or ceramic coat :o Thanks.

Jet hot coating. That's all I have to say. I stand by it 100%. doesn't quite look like chrome, looks a little more aluminized but looks awesome none-the-less. Flytime and Wanabe can vouch, it looked good on my boat, didn't change color with heat, easy to clean. The only thing to be careful of when having it done is the fittings on the headers for your plumbing. If they are going to acid dip or sandblast your headers ask them to be careful around the fitting because the acid will weaken the thread and you know what sandblasting will do to them...

Ok cool, so who does it?

I only know one shop, he's actually doing two engine blocks for me right now. He's local to me I don't think you wanna be driving 5 hours each way...

we do powder coating and ceramic coatings. Powder coating will not stand the heat of headers, we do satin type ceramic coatings for exhaust systems, not like the smooth polished jet hot type. Cost is about half of jet hot
-
Cost me $90 to get the jet hot done on my headers.... How cheap can you ceramic coat them for?
the engine block are slated to be tables. I have 2 working 4 bolt main 350 Chevy's being jet hot coated. Give them the aluminum look. One is accounted for, the other is yet to be sold.
-
cool idea, got any pics>? maybe something i'd be interested in for my blown small block for my car. i did a third member (ford) in my '67 nova and the guy who baught it later told me it had an aluminum third member in it, I told him, "pick it up"
-
The guy i talked to here said $165 to blast inside and out and then powder coat. GOOD PRICE if you see these headers you would agree ;D

I don't know if I'd coat a working engine block??? I just did it because they're gonna be tables... Anyone sell sheets of glass?
-
I Jet-Hot coated my Olds headers, They didn't stay looking good for very long, but for the$350.00, They include 1 recoating if you are not happy, I just havn't sent mine back yet, Good luck
-
Mine are olds too, will powder coating them turn colors?

I took the boat out minimum twice a week from March 07-August 07. Ran the headers dry, ran them wet, either way they never turned colors. Nothing changed, just a slight amount of soot around the rim of the collectors after idling through a long 5 MPH zone... I stand by the jethot, I swear by the jet hot. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
