Found something that just made my day today. I was driving to Parker to do some insurance Appraisals..... I had gotten through Bullhead and was down in Mohave Valley when I see a Bimini Top on a boat that I recognize. Right away my memory bring sup the same bimini on my Pop's old boat.... and as I get closer I see that it IS my pop's old boat. I haven't seen it in about 9 years. Immediately I get out of the car and look at it, has the same paint job my dad had done himself, about 13 colors, same airbrush.... only thing missing was the name "Elite Fleet" on the back under the Taz Devil.
It brought up MANY memories. This was the first jet boat I had driven by myself, and had worked on. Even though when I was a toddler my Pops had a few other jets with Olds, this was the main one.
I knock on the guys window and ask him when he had gotten that boat, he had told me he bought it in Vegas a couple years ago. When my family had it, is when we lived in San Diego.... back then my father had sold it for $7000.... which back then was a pretty high price for this kind of boat.

I had told the guy I grew up on the boat. He seemed kinda of skeptical until I asked him if he changed the interior from the original Dark brown and light brown, and as soon as he said he did he knew I was talking about the boat.
I wanted to tell him about all the adventures in the boat, jumping sandbars in the middle of the night, having it completely beached after hiking on a trail right below hoover damn (the river had dropped FAST!) , and getting shot at by fisherman when doing toolie runs at Martinez..... but I didn't want to hurt the guys feelings so I kept it to myself.

Who knew boats could only have Gel on them? Cause paint won't last.... especially (sp?) when there are 13 colors, pinstripes, and airbrush....
The ol' Taz. This boat, before my Pop's had bought it, was a drag racer.... used to have a Blown 540 injected, then the owner (roomate) decided to get a tunnel.... uh yah think?

That is one hell of a story....thats awesome that you "KNOW" that the boat is still running, being used, and still in good shape...

That is a cool story. Here is the boat I grew up with. My dad bought it new right after I was born.
So now I got it. I would like something with a little more room, but it would be hard to sell.
