They found some in Pueblo res. about 30 miles south of me. What to do? Flush system when done with chemicals? Don't want to infect other lakes. :-\

The best thing to do is pull your plug at the ramp and be sure all the water drains out. They recommend 4 or 5 days between putting your boat back into another body of water.  The musssles die out of water.  Wonder if they could live in Elsinore?  ;D

Don't worry.  When the authorities pull you over for 20 minutes or so and pressure wash the inside of your boat and put you on "the list" so that you have to get permission to launch next time, you will be told everything you need to know.  :o

Since I didn't read about the mussels I don't know what this means.

One of the last times I came through the inspection station at Blythe they stopped me and inspected my boat.  No big deal.

They recommend drying out the vehicle for 5-7 days before putting into a different body of water.

on my way back from havasu thanksgiving weekend after i blew the motor in parker...the bildge was full of oil and i left the drain plug in so it wouldnt drain all over the road.

I pulled in and the lady asked "did you pull the bildge plug?".....i said no and explained why....

she went back there and took a peek....came back with a disgusted look on her face and said "boy, you sure have a mess to clean up back there"....and sent me on my way.

I say, she eyeballs my boat long enougph people start bailing out of the line I'm in. Finally she approaches my window and says"Sir,what lake are you coming off of today?"  True story. OMG!

Oh boy! Usually I'm pretty quick with a smart ass comeback in a situation like that. I wish I would have said something like "lake paddle alot" but for the first time I can remember, I was completly speechless.
