I sold my 1974 Eliminator :'(. The guy who bought it calls me back and tells me that he changed out the impeller on the Drake pump and that afterwards the boat GPSd at 68 mph. The best I ever did before was 52. Did he really pull that many more MPH with a fricking impeller change?

I wouldn't believe him just to make myself feel better. Tell myself that he wouldn't call back if he had only seen say half that. Would he? Nah . . .

Do you remember what RPM it turned before you sold it?

I was turning about 5600 he said it has kicked up to about 6400. I know he will blow it up if he runs it like that very long. I am just curious if that is truly possible.

Ebay or Craiglist speeds were used. Anything is possible, but that's a steep increase in speed.
