As you all know I bought a Tahiti with full stringers. So I take the boat down to Hondo and they told me that they have never seen a full stringer tahit like mine and ask me how I know it is a Tahiti. Well I can see where the Tahiti badges were on the boat it kind of sunfaded into the gelcoat. My registration says it is a Tahiti. So anyways he looks at the HID and it is HAOM4026m840. He says it should start with TAH. The only thing he can think of is that it was made by hardin marine and they put a Tahiti badge on it. So now I am confused on what kind of boat this is. I know Carribean is under Hardin Marine but is Tahiti as well?? I am confused. Any info would be great

here we go, i have a full stringer tahiti, on the hull i.d. in the mold in back right corner the vin numbers have a series of numbers and in the middle there is a TAH in the vin numbers thus meaning it is a tahiti. TAHITI 101 is over for today.

They are currently owned by CP Performance as well as Berkeley and Gil Marine.

Actually the boats were laid up at Tahiti and then Hardin Marine got them and rigged them with there packages. At least that is what I remember.
Kind of like gettin and Edelbrock carb, no matter witch way you shake it it is a Carter, hell Edebrock even changed the part #s but it is still a Carter AFB carb.

Tahiti owners were, in order...
1. Dick Schuster
2. Bell Industries
3. Hardin Marine. Tahiti's were not built by Tahiti and then sent to Hardin to rig. By that time Hardin owned Tahiti and Carribean, both were built and rigged in house by the same riggers and laminators. One was marketed as a higher level of boat then the other. I could never tell which one that was.
Tahiti made full length stringer boats from the very begining, you had to ask for and pay for it extra as a customer though.
