So I'm at the gas station this morning watching the tv at the pump so I don't get sick watching how much its costing me and I see a commercial about a tv show that appears to be solely based on 4 whores that are friends who are chasing sleeping with married men and stealing each others married man. What the fuk. I was completely blown away by this even though yah i know "its only tv". Maybe because I haven't had cable for the last 3 years I may have missed some shows that lead to this one becoming acceptable but who the hell watches this crap and why? Being a father of two girls that are 11years old and 6 months what am I suppose to think when and if my oldest watches this show somewhere else or when my youngest is older watches a show of the same theme? Now they are seeing a skanky demoralized whores lifestyle on tv and its being portrayed as a glamorous life style on and its acceptable. Bull sh!t. Seems like the media is making it harder and harder to raise children with positive influences when all it's doing is pushing skinny models, skanky women and other bs social influences.
We sure aren't in Mayberry anymore.

As much as i would like to agree with you, i cant. Free speech man! If you dont want your kids to see it , turn it off. At some point your kids make choices you just hope the choices that they make will be good ones. And that my friend is where we as parents come in. If we have done our job, the choices they make will be the right ones!

And I could agree with you more. Just like you said as parents we are responsible, just hope that was what we say sticks and they make the right choices.
But no need for me to turn it off, no cable in my home ;). Just Netflix and DVDs. I do my best to make sure my kids know right from wrong and I don't want some garbage on my tv to contradict what I'm saying. One of the many reasons I try to be the man I want them to marry and as far as movies and tv, I don't watch anything that my family can't sit down and watch with me. You will most likely never see anything on my tv with a rating higher than PG.

yeah the crap they put on tv these days. i have a 15 year old daughter and im always asking what's the rating of tv show that she is watching.... answer = PG-14. damn the ratings are different from when we were kids. but we always try to remind her of our family values and hope they stick too. you have to take the good with the bad. now why aren't they as liberal with the 2nd amendment :banghead: i'm not a criminal. Mistresses kill each other all the time to keep their man ... but they usually use a gun :-[
i grew up watching "Leave it to Beaver" and "Brady Bunch" and all that i have to show for it is a functional moral compass (it tilts once-in-a-while).

I love the Beaver!!!!! Nothing wrong with the moral compass being off 1 or 2 degrees. I'm sure you are a good man.
