I have a 14' 10' little fishing boat with a 6hp outboard {whacker} What are the rules in Cali for what you do or don't have to register? The guy I got it from didn't have a pink for the boat but did for the trailer. It has CF numbers on one side, not to great looking tho. I'm thinking, because it had 2 numbers on the inside that it mustve been a rental boat at one time. Anyone ???

does it have a vin number on the back ?
-
Yup it does
-
I was thinking it had to do with length and HP ???
-
call AAA with the vin and see what they need for you to reg it.

Sailboats over 8' and any motor driven craft....
Should not be a big deal, but the back fees to me are just stupid.
It will register just like any other boat.
-
Ya I thought about the back fees too :banghead: :banghead: Was trying to tell myself no prob it won't happen, lol. Oh well make up a phony bill of sale and go to AAA and see what happens.

Wouldn't you also be able to remove the hin, and call it a "home build" which would cause you to be able to register it like new.
