Just a friendly little reminder that jet boat rooster tails while very bitchen, can also be extremely dangerous and can cause a lot of damage.
I bring this up because I was talking to my neighbor and he was talking about his Don Pedro trip where this A-hole was trying knock people off of a house boat with a rooster from a jet boat, then I told him this story.
While screwing around on Lake Shasta several years back, we were cruising along in the evening when the water smoothed out about an hour before dusk, the Place diverter was throwing a pretty good roost of about 8' high, when all of a sudden this idiot on a "Water Maggot" (jet ski) tries to jump my wake about 20' off the back of the boat, needless to say the roost blew this dipshit right off his ski, at first I thought it was the funniest thing I ever saw, but unfortunately it hit him right in the Pie hole and damn near blinded him (his eyes looked like cherry pie).
When I gave him a ride to shore, towing his jet ski, he stated he had no idea how powerful those roosters were, I GUARANTEE he will never make that mistake again.
Its amazing to me the shit we got away with when we were younger!
BTW they also knock the windows right out of house boats, don't ask me how I know that :-\

In CT if you "roost" someone and get caught it is a felony...period. It is considered a weapon.

I got hit square in the nuts one time, while jumping a wake on a seadoo. Knocked me right off the ski and I spent the rest of the weekend on the couch.

On Havasau Party Heat on Tru TV, I saw the Sherrifs write tickets on two different episodes for Unsafe Roostin. I dont know how it works though when a Water Lice trys to jump your wake and you already have your rooster up in the running mode. Isnt it their fault at that point? I had an idiot doing that last weekend, they just dont realize how powerful it really is!

those guys were written up for reckless driving. there is no specific law for roosting in CA/AZ, its just deemed unsafe to drive at those speeds near another vessle.
NOW that being said, the same goes for lake lice. It is illegal for them to jump other boats wakes. There is an episode of party heat as well where they give a guy a ticket for jumping other boats wakes.
it all just boils down to inexperienced people who are clueless as to what you can and cant do on the water. people think its wide open water and just "smash the pedal and go"....that is not the case.

I think it's for "ubstruction of view" when they issue tickets

Solution: Ban jet skis! ;)

Better yet, offer a jet ski hunting license! >:D
