Title: Rudder on the pump
Post by: Tomale 1 on January 27, 2016, 06:25:02 PM
I'm getting my pump done and they're putting it together next week. I want to know what people opinions on mounting the rudder back on, now that I have a droop snoot. Anyone have any good pro's and con's? Please any info would be appreciated

Seemed like a good idea when I bought it.  It made absolutely zero difference.  IMHO, it just adds weight and drag.

I put one on mine and didn't really notice a difference. But left it on thinking that God forbid I lose my motor that it might just give me enough steering to avoid hitting rocks, another boat, ect. Any validity in that?

I ran one on my Commander last year while running through some pretty shallow water. The rudder hit and ripped my nozzle off with it. I will never run one again. Risk out weighs the reward...

Good idea. Its just a rock finder and depth gauge anyways.
