"The Russo and Steele Collector Automobile Auction remained closed on Saturday as work crews continued to asses damage and clean up from high winds that destroyed two tents at the auction site in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Thursday night.
In a message posted on the Russo and Steele Web site, CEO Drew Alcazar said he would meet with consignors of the cars at the auction on Saturday morning. He added that the auction would remain closed on Saturday but that Russo and Steele would work to hold auction sessions on Sunday and Monday.
Alcazar said the auction site would not reopen to the public until it was approved by Scottsdale city officials.
During the storm on Thursday night, an 800-foot long tent broke loose from its anchors and blew onto a nearby freeway. Metal poles from the tent hit and damaged cars, while open-top cars at the auction received water damage from.......

The Firebird 400 made me throw up in my mouth a little......Not to bad til the A-pillar.......Rest of it is a shame, but didn't look unfixeable from what I saw at a glance. (As a buyer though, there was a LOT of Bondo showing on a few of those!)
I doubt the owners of these cars, or the event as I understand it, carried the insurance coverage the guys do for Barrett-Jackson either.
Some Fire Sales there maybe?????

My buddy sent me a picture from Napa, there were three cars in a parking lot, a Carrera 4 Porsche (AWD ;)), a Z06 Vette, and I think it was a Subaru WRX (hard to tell)..
The Porsche and the WRX were completely smashed by some eucalyptus trees, the Corvette (in the middle) was completely untouched...
I guess it's good he bought American :screwy:
BTW, Tom.....Don't do that again :'(
;D
BTW, I frikken deleted the picture accidentally, I will have him resend it to me and I will try not to fugg it up....

It was a nasty night, and shitty storm, Russo and Steele is literally accross the street for the dealership i work at, the carnage and devistation left behind was incredible, and to see the size of the tents that were leveled is unbelievable. Barrett Jackson closed all their "outside/secondary" tents that night and moved everyone to the main tent and secured all the doors to it for safety reasons. Some of my guys were working our booth at Barrett and they said it got really nasty really quick.
