« on: June 06, 2011, 01:54:09 PM »
I know there are lots of strong opinions out there so I want hear them all. I will finally be up for a new phone soon and I am torn. Lay it on me. What do you guys like about the droid over the iPhone and so on. I use my iPod touch all the time for all kinds of shit and don't have any problems. Thanks in advance.

We dont talk about that around here!

dos: ford vs chevy, berk vs jacuzzi, blowers vs turbos, over transom vs thru transom
dont's: droid vs apple, kitchen vs boat purchase, feelings, chineese made jetboats  :screwy:

Additional do! Make fun of bob whenever necessary!

J/k Bob

Im guessing you are with verizon and those are the top 2 options, and i would go for the droid! granted apple has good stuff out there, there is alot more to be had on the droid network

that's just my .02 though!

Thanks Josh. I should have mentioned that yes I am with Verizon. I just have a good feeling that the droid software is going to make a big run at apple. Could be wrong. Happen once or twice before......

I have the droid x. I love it. Its the bigger one with no slide out key pad. It has a 8.0 mp camera that takes really good pictures.
If you buy one go to Costco you save 190$  The version store wanted 200$ for the phone and 50$ for the case and car charger.
Costco was 60$ for everything  they even switched my phone numbers over and set up my e mail stuff for free.

I have had iphones for the last 3 years. I browse all the forums and post from it every day. I even post pics with it using the photobucket app. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I had to get rid of verizon about 6 years ago because the base I worked on had a verizon block. Now that verizon has the iphone I am very tempted to change over.

ill just say that the only reason i love my g2 is because of the full keyboard.  i had a samsung vibrant for a while and touchscreen typing is SOOOOO crappy.  swype is worthless.  luckily that phone fell into the ocean so i had to get a new one.  previous to that ive had the g1 and it was rooted running cyanogen and a few other custom android roms.  android battery life sucks unless you tune your ATK to kill apps like a hawk.  iphone is nice but the 2 carriers rape you on data/messaging.  android apps are pretty lame with the exception of the few commercial ones out there.  iphone apps are clean and polished due to the approval process but most of em cost money since an apple dev kit costs money.

id find a plan that fits your needs and then pick a phone that matches it.  not the other way around.

Brought up a great point, my plan is so old that nobody's newer plans can touch it.

Oh and this was posted from my iPhone 4

I don't even have a computer. I do all my chit with my hemDroid. Thats how I justify the extra 30$ a month for the data package.

I love my iPhone! The only drawback is that it doesn't work with Flash. On a rare occasion there will be a Web site that I can't access. That is the only time it has left me wanting. I will not bash any other phone. Because I don't have one. If you can get everyone to post the worst thing about their phone, and not the worst thing about the phone that they don't have, you would have a great thread.

I have had the droid incredible since it came out and love it.  it is my personal phone and does everything i could ask of it (verizon network).  it is easy to use, hd screen, great camara and videos.  in my opinion you can't go wrong.  My work phone is an iphone4,  i am still getting used to it (just traded my crackberry in for it)  so far the droid seems easier to navigate but i am still learning the iphone, picture quality seems equal, size of the phone is very very close, features are close.  the droid seems faster though, my emails load quicker, text messages are quicker, internet is faster etc.

I have been an apple hater since the dawn of time. all the rich kids in the neighborhood had apples, but my ibm did so much more for a fraction of the price.

When the ipods came out...big deal....there was several companies (ie creative) that made mp3 players that did more then the ipod did for 1/2 the price.

now dont get me started on the iphone. 80% of its sale is pure hype. if they didnt have the trend backing it, it wouldnt sell at all. you can give some people a million and one reasons to not get an iphone, and they will get it anyways because its the cool trendy phone.

I will give it to apple for finally getting on a different carrier. AT&T was (and still is, and always will be) a joke. Shit phone + shit network = shit.

this video sums it up.

I personally have a Droid 1. I love it. I am due for a "new in two" on verizon. Not sure what my next phone is going to be. Any suggestions? I am lookin for another android based phone (ie: droid x/incredible) ...i havent been keeping up to date on whats out there and whats coming out soon. any suggestions?

X2 on Droid X. Typing can be a pain with touchscreen but you can always use voice converter dealio to type for you. Just got to watch what it interprets! Lol

"Sent using my nephew" LMFAO!!!

Do you remember when Honda spent all of that money advertising that they were better then Kia and Hundai?

Wait, neither do I!

If you have to constantly tell someone that you are better than them, you probably aren't. (red devil smiley face)

Hey, do you remember that time;

V8 guys were bragging about beating four cylinder guys?

the blower guys were bragging about beating N/A guys?

the turbo guys were bragging about beating the blower guys?

If you are the slow guy you compare yourself to the fast guy!

If you are the second best phone on the market, your marketing strategy would probably be to constantly compare yourself to the best!

Well I ended up with an iPhone 4 for multiple reasons. I have lots of paid apps I already own that I would have to re purchase through the droid store. My car is already hardwired to charge my iPhone and play music already in my iTunes library. So there you have it. Any cool tips or tricks from you other iPhone users you feel like sharing? Thanks for all advise.
