So on may 10 I went to Sam's club in bullhead to get gas for the boat. Both of my tanks were completely empty(and I mean dry!) I put fuel in both tanks. Went to the lake. It ran for maybe 3 mins once I got out of the no wake zone then spit n sputter and wouldn't plane. Ran like complete crap. Got pulled to the beach. Pulled the water fuel seperator, and it was full of water.emptied and reinstalled, no different. So I got pulled back into the marina and put it back on the trailer. Water fuel separator was full again. I started draining the tanks into gas cans. Out of 17 gallons, I had almost 3 gallons of water. That's a lot of water for brand new fuel. So I went to the auto parts store and got some fuel filters and a new water fuel separator filter. They told me that I wasn't the first person to have that issue from Sam's club fuel. So at this time now, we headed to the hotel and I called Sam's club to inform them on what happened. The manager was really nice and told me that it has to go thru their insurance company. So finally today the insurance lady called me back. She said that she is going to request that the gas station do a test on their fuel tanks today and get numbers currently off the sensors. It was over a week ago. That fuel is long gone. She also said that I shouldn't have fixed the boat myself and asked if I had the water from the gas tank still. After i fixed the problem myself, the boat ran fine, on new gas from a different gas station. I know my tanks arent letting water in. Has anyone ever dealt with a situation like this? I'm tired of getting screwed by businesses that don't have good customer service.

I've had problems in the past with "generic' fuel. It's simply not worth it anymore for me to try and save a few bucks. All of my fuel (trucks, boat, lawnmower) comes from top tier suppliers now....Chevron, 76, shell, etc....I haven't had an issue since I made the switch about 10 years ago.
Not quite sure how to deal with the insurance company...sounds like no real damage was done though...right? Just a pain in the ass while getting it sorted out?

Been purchasing gas at Bullhead Sams club weekly for the last four years. Three cars and two boats, never had any issues. It only takes one bad tanker load of fuel to ruin your day.

That is the sole reason I got a Sam's club membership. For the convienence there at the river.no lines, ez access. Close to hotels. This is the second time I have had it from there. Guess I have just been the lucky winner at the pump there.

I think I was the unlucky customer. 3 gallons of water is crazy. Let's see how they handle this mess.
